According to a survey report by the Nursing Faculty of Dai Nam University, 100% of Lao students of K12 have jobs in their majors right after graduation; students of K13 who have just graduated have achieved Good and Excellent grades and are currently working at many large hospitals and clinics with stable incomes in Laos.

Lao students affirmed: "Very proud to study and graduate from Dai Nam University".

Lao students need more attention

Over the years, Dai Nam University has received, trained and managed many Laotian students studying Nursing. Immediately, the University’s Board of Directors issued a directive: “There is no difference between Laotian students and Vietnamese students. In fact, Laotian students need more attention…”

During the study process, students are supported and given all conditions to integrate into the environment, teachers and friends. Accordingly, students are allowed to stay entirely in the dormitory; create conditions for students to cook twice a week; teach Vietnamese; receive health care from the school's medical team; support with hospitalization procedures and support medical expenses for serious accidents; participate in competitions and movement activities of the Faculty and the Dean to exchange and connect students across the school...

Lao students quickly integrate into the learning environment at Dai Nam University.

Thidphaphone Keosouvanh – Nursing class 13.03 shared: “As international students, we always receive special attention and favor from the school. When my friends and I were infected with Covid-19, it was the teachers who bought food and medicine; constantly asked about our health status, and were ready to support us when needed. The teachers also always encouraged and motivated us so that we would not be afraid, lost, or lonely. I am truly grateful to the teachers and the school for not abandoning us during that time.”

Alintar Khammavong – Nursing class 12.02 expressed: “The school always creates conditions for Lao students to participate in meaningful activities; making banh chung, arranging flowers, celebrating the traditional Vietnamese New Year… At the same time, Lao students have the opportunity to share Lao cuisine and Lam Vong dance with teachers and Vietnamese students. That makes me feel close, warm and familiar like at home”.

Alintar Khammavong is currently working at a famous hospital in Laos.

Every time the traditional Lao New Year comes, the school creates conditions to organize and celebrate the New Year with students. This helps students ease their homesickness and also connects and strengthens the relationship between teachers and students.

Quality assurance of training

The Nursing training program for Lao students is built according to ASEAN standards; over 80% of the content is similar to the training programs of leading universities in the region in Nursing such as: Mahidol University (Thailand), Osaka University (Japan)...

During their studies, Lao students learn theory and practice at the school's Skillslab; connect to internships at major hospitals such as: Xanh-Pon General Hospital, Ha Dong General Hospital, Central Psychiatric Hospital, Ha Dong District Medical Center... Here, Lao students are enthusiastically guided by experts and nurses with many years of experience from the hospitals; practice taking care of patients...

“The achievements we have today are thanks to the systematic training program, which is in line with the trends of the Faculty and the School. Practical lessons at school and hospital help me to hone my skills and visualize the whole picture of the job. Therefore, we can start working right after graduation and are highly appreciated by doctors and nurses at the hospital”, shared Chansamone Sengsouda – Nursing class 13.03.

Chansamone Sengsouda won 3rd prize in the White Blouse Beauty Photo Contest organized by Dai Nam University.
