“The class committee is an extension of the school, spreading positive messages to students. Dai Nam University is always ready to listen and change flexibly, actively to best meet the learning needs of students”. That was emphasized by Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University in the dialogue between the school leaders and students of the 2022-2023 school year held on the morning of April 26.

The dialogue between the school leaders and students is an annual activity, demonstrating the democracy and responsibility of Dai Dai Nam University. This is an opportunity for the school leaders; faculties, departments, offices, institutes, centers and students of all courses and majors to exchange and frankly share problems and difficulties related to study, life as well as facilities, learning equipment, etc.

With an open and frank spirit, this year's direct dialogue session had the participation of representatives of the Board of Directors; leaders of Departments, Offices, Faculties, Institutes, Centers and more than 300 class cadres of courses 13, 14, 15, 16 of the school.

The school strives to do better and not to indulge unconditionally and "spoil" the students.

At the dialogue, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong said: There were more than 100 questions and opinions from students sent to the school; focusing on the areas of finance (tuition, scholarships, policies...), student affairs, training, scientific research, and facilities.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong enthusiastically answered students' questions.

In terms of finance, students are interested in scholarship policies and how tuition fees change over the years and courses.

Responding to this issue, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Le - Chief Accountant said: The school does not increase tuition fees during the entire course of the students. The National Defense Education and Physical Education subjects do not collect tuition fees, only collect expenses related to each student's consumption (food, dormitory, logistics services; printing, issuing certificates) and pay at the beginning of the enrollment period.

Regarding the scholarship policy, the school currently allocates scholarships based on the tuition fee paid according to regulations, the number of students in each course, each faculty and is divided into many types: Talent encouragement scholarships, scholarships for high-quality students, incentive scholarships, scholarships for students in special areas. In addition, there are many other scholarships and policies from businesses, providing maximum financial support for students in their studies and internships.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Le shares with students about financial issues.

Regarding training, scientific research and student affairs, questions focus on training majors, job support; time, criteria for participating in scientific research, etc.

Representatives of relevant departments have enthusiastically answered the above questions. Accordingly, the Employment Center is committed to supporting and connecting jobs for 100% of final year students; organizing additional training courses on knowledge and skills (IT, English, interviewing, etc.) for students. Regarding scientific research, all students with sufficient capacity can participate, regardless of which year they are.

The issue of physical facilities is also of particular concern to students. Accordingly, the School has made constant efforts to supplement and innovate necessary equipment and learning materials; creating conditions for students to study and live in a modern, green, clean and beautiful environment.

Students frankly share and express their wishes and aspirations with teachers.

At the dialogue, students expressed their wishes: parking closer to the physical education learning location; information and communication work about the courses being more widely covered; more regulations on smoking in the school, especially the restroom area, etc.

Take careful notes to convey information to your classmates.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong shared: “The school always listens to students’ thoughts and wishes to make better adjustments. But it does not indulge unconditionally. Everything must be appropriate, in the spirit of sharing and understanding.”

Training to improve self-esteem and classroom management skills for the "core" team

At the program, the staff team learned and practiced leadership and classroom management skills with Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Thu - Lecturer of the Faculty of Soft Skills Training and Development, Dai Nam University.

In the process of classroom management, it is necessary to flexibly apply 3 management methods: Self-determination, self-implementation; Freedom, relaxation; Democracy, coordination. In addition, effective management tips can be applied such as: Establishing rules of the game; Having a clear assignment plan; Establishing an information exchange mechanism; Becoming a companion; The spirit of "We are a family" (connecting with the lecturer and with the members of the class).

Ms. Ha Thu advised the committee members: “Being a class officer is a difficult journey, sometimes making you tired and discouraged. However, do not give up because this is an extremely wonderful experience that not everyone has during their student years. This will be a solid journey for you to develop further in the future.”

The dialogue demonstrated the school’s concern and closeness to all students, staff and lecturers, aiming to improve the quality of training and innovate the educational environment towards modernity and integration. Any wishes of students are listened to and resolved by the school in the most thorough and appropriate manner.
