9X from nail technician to excellent student at Dai Nam University

Ha Thi Hai Yen, a female student at Dai Nam University, is an inspiration to many young people about her will to strive to fulfill her dream of entering university.

Ha Thi Hai Yen was born in 1999, currently a second-year student majoring in Finance and Banking at Dai Nam University. Not only does she have an impressive academic record, but Hai Yen's journey to achieve a university degree has inspired many young people.

The journey from nail technician to excellent student.

Born and raised in a poor family in Phu Tho, Yen trained herself to be independent from an early age. After graduating from high school, instead of choosing a dream university like her friends, Yen had to sadly put aside her dream of going to university to study nail-eyelash with the hope of soon having an income to help her parents.

After completing her studies, Yen decided to open a salon at home. Despite the great effort, Yen’s nail salon soon had to close due to the low number of customers from her hometown. There was even a time when she did not have enough money to maintain the salon.

Then, the young girl decided to pack up and go to Hanoi to work for hire with the hope of finding a suitable job and a stable income.

After 4 years of struggling with all kinds of jobs from nail technician to waitress to hotel receptionist,... Yen realized that it was very difficult to find a good job with a high income without a university degree.

Then, with her own constant efforts and hard work, Hai Yen was admitted to the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University with a total score of nearly 27 points in 3 subjects: Math - Physics - Chemistry, to the surprise of her friends and relatives.

Dream of conquering an excellent degree

In the first days back to school, Yen was very self-conscious and confused because she was the oldest in the class and had not been to school for so long that she was afraid of falling behind. However, thanks to the care and support of her friends and teachers, Yen quickly integrated into the new environment and had many opportunities to learn and improve herself.

When asked about the reason for choosing Dai Nam University instead of many other schools, Yen said that she was introduced to the school by her colleagues. After researching and finding a suitable environment and having a banking and finance major that she loved, she enrolled. For Yen, no matter what environment she studies in, she must try hard, be serious and diligent to be able to achieve success.

Although she started much later than her classmates, with her efforts, hard work and perseverance, Yen became one of the best students of the entire course with impressive academic achievements. That was 3 consecutive terms of winning the school's excellent scholarship, first prize in the DNU Moments contest in the video category organized by the school.

Not only does she have top academic achievements in the school, Yen is also a very active student who enthusiastically participates in extracurricular activities inside and outside the school. She is always ready to help her friends, so she is loved by everyone. Currently, Hai Yen hopes that in the next semesters she can maintain her academic performance and strive to graduate on time with an excellent degree.

As for further plans, Yen wants to find a satisfactory job in a bank and open a small nail-eyelash salon to beautify people.

Hai Yen's favorite saying is "Never give up no matter what" which means: "Never give up no matter what happens".

Yen said that she always had family, friends, teachers and encouragement to help her, so she did not give up and tried to achieve the results she has today.
