Awarding ceremony of the impressive DNU CV writing contest 2023: Students confidently master their capacity profiles, defeating employers

The agility of Dai Nam University (DNU) in connecting businesses, career orientation, and organizing training courses to supplement knowledge and skills has helped students confidently step into the labor market. No longer vaguely presenting CVs based on emotions, DNU final year students confidently 'master' their resumes, 'knock out' employers and 'win prizes' in the impressive CV writing contest organized by the Center for "Student Employment and Entrepreneurship".

According to employers, the biggest problem for new graduates is lack of practical experience, weak skills (communication, teamwork, presentation, negotiation, office computer skills, interview skills, CV writing, etc.) This causes many young people, despite being very good at professional knowledge, to still be "failed" right from the first round.

Determined not to let students be “eliminated” just because of lack of basic skills, from the second year, 100% of Dai Nam University students have been taught to write CVs and answer interviews in the Advanced Soft Skills course. However, only 50% meet the requirements. The rest are subjective, thinking that these skills are not necessary, so they do not have the awareness to practice on their own.

To "fill in" the remaining knowledge and skills, Dai Nam University cooperates with businesses to bring experts to train 06 topics: CV writing skills, Interview answering skills, Self-understanding and orientation skills, Office computer skills, Adaptation and communication skills in the workplace, Planning and work management skills.

Top 3 impressive CV writing contests at the Award Ceremony.

After the training course, students will directly practice the above skills through submitting CVs and direct interviews with business representatives at the 2023 Job Fair. In particular, final year students will once again have their CV writing skills "assessed" through the DNU 2023 Impressive CV Writing Contest.

After launching, the contest received hundreds of entries from final year students. After a rigorous judging round from experts, business managers and teachers, the Top 3 of the contest were officially revealed. On June 13, representatives of the Board of Directors and the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Center presented awards to these talented students.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa reminded students to promote the spirit of learning, self-training and studying anytime, anywhere.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal congratulated the winners, and emphasized: "It would be a pity if just because of seemingly simple shortcomings, students struggled after graduation. It would be a waste of time, effort and money that parents have invested. Therefore, the School wants to stand side by side and immediately focus on your shortcomings. However, you should not just wait to be "brought" but must proactively learn and practice your skills, from CV writing skills to office computer skills and foreign languages. Now that you are young, have time and are supported by your parents, you should cultivate a lot of knowledge and skills. Your future will be very open thanks to your efforts today."

Ms. Pham Thi Dung – Deputy Director of the Center shared: “Whether you win the prize or not, you will definitely have the experience to build a professional CV. Hopefully, with the knowledge, skills and “passport” granted by Dai Nam University, you can score absolute points with employers, have a good job, attractive salary…”

Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh - Pharmacy class 12.08 said: "Previously, my CV writing skills were zero. I was rejected many times because my CV was not impressive. But after participating in the school's skills training course, I learned how to create an impressive, scientific, correct and accurate CV that meets the employer's requirements. The positive feedback from businesses at the Job Fair and the First Prize in the impressive CV writing contest are proof of that."

From zero at the beginning, through the training, Quynh Anh won first prize in the competition and of course confidently "conquered" the employer.

Cao Sy Duy Khanh – Digital Marketing class 13.01, Faculty of Business Administration expressed: “Right from the first years, I have been trained in CV writing skills in Human Resource Management and Advanced Soft Skills. This helps me confidently “conquer” many large businesses and corporations while still in school. Thanks to that, I have 2 years of working experience and have closed billion-dollar projects…”

The skills supplemented in the classroom are certainly a solid stepping stone for Dai Nam University students to confidently enter the labor market, affirming their Intelligence - Talent - Strength in domestic and foreign enterprises. In the future, the University and the "Student Employment and Entrepreneurship" Center will continue to organize knowledge - skills training courses and career orientation programs for students; determined to achieve the goal of 100% of graduates having jobs in their majors with high incomes.
