Celebrating 10 years of establishment and training of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University: nearly 50 businesses attended, awarded scholarships to students and donated trees to the school

After 10 years of construction and development (2013 - 2023), with the motto "Training dynamic and entrepreneurial pharmacists with community responsibility", the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University (DNU) has increasingly affirmed its reputation and brand on the map of undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacist training. Marking the 10-year journey of construction and development: honoring generations of teachers and students; looking back on the past, continuing history to continuously develop to meet the trust and expectations of society, on the morning of March 4, Dai Nam University solemnly organized the "10th Anniversary Ceremony of Establishment and Training of Pharmacy". Hundreds of scholarships for students and trees were presented to the School by businesses, alumni and students at the ceremony.

Hundreds of guests attended and congratulated DNU Pharmacy on entering a new decade of development.

“The 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the Establishment and Training of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University” was organized elaborately and grandly right at the Central Square of the school with the participation of hundreds of distinguished guests, businesses and alumni and students of Pharmacy.

On behalf of the school units, there were: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Director of the Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Nam Trung - Director of the Institute of Pharmacy Training, Military Medical Academy; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU Hanoi; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu - Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Duy Tan University; Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Pham Thanh Ky - Former Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy.

The 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment and training of the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University was held solemnly, warmly, and imbued with gratitude.

On behalf of Dai Nam University, there were the presence of: Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council; Mr. Do Quan - Vice Chairman of the University Council; Board of Directors; representatives of leaders of Faculties - Departments - Offices - Institutes - Centers; Leaders, staff, lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Center for Continuing Education in Pharmacy.

In particular, the ceremony was also attended by students and generations of alumni and students of the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University.

10 years of perseverance and breakthrough, affirming reputation and brand on the map of Pharmacy education

In 2013, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 2965/QD-BGDDT on allowing Dai Nam University to provide regular undergraduate training in Pharmacy. At that time, Dai Nam University was one of the first non-public universities in the North to be allowed to train and enroll students in Pharmacy.

After 10 years, the training scale reached 4,548 students at two training levels: University and Postgraduate.

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Council acknowledged and highly appreciated the breakthrough efforts of the Pharmaceutical industry.

By 2023, the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University has had 06 graduating classes, providing society with thousands of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacists, actively contributing to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health. Many DNU pharmacists are working and holding key leadership positions at leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Vietnam, such as: FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, Ha Tay Pharmaceutical, Phuc Hung Oriental Medicine, Sao Thai Duong, Xuan Hoa Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, Pharmacity Pharmaceutical Company, MKT Academy and Medical and Pharmaceutical Sales (MPG) - Pharma Vietnam Strategy Consulting Joint Stock Company...

This is the result of the tireless efforts of the school's Board of Directors and generations of Pharmacy teachers over the past 10 years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son expressed his deep gratitude to generations of teachers who have joined hands with the University to build a solid foundation, gradually affirming the reputation and brand of the Pharmacy industry of Dai Nam University.

“10 years is not long, but it is the effort of the whole system. Together with the School, the teachers of Pharmacy have overcome many challenges and difficulties to achieve the set goals. Today, we can confidently say that the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University has established its position in the system of universities training in Pharmacy in Vietnam. I believe that, with the common spirit of the School and the teachers, Dai Nam Pharmacy will develop more and more, training generations of young pharmacists who are dynamic, career-oriented, responsible for the community; following in the footsteps of previous generations, holding different positions in the Pharmacy industry…” Dr. Le Dac Son proudly affirmed.

Dr. Le Dac Son hopes that businesses will continue to accompany and support Dai Nam University on the journey of training a team of high-quality pharmacists: “To train a team of university and postgraduate pharmacists with good expertise, good medical ethics, and who can start working immediately after graduation, the University cannot train alone and neither can businesses. Therefore, the University and businesses must "join hands" to cooperate in training and orienting learners to provide society with a young, dynamic, and responsible intellectual workforce in the pharmaceutical industry.”

The gathering of generations of former students and trainees of the Pharmacy major made Dr. Le Dac Son extremely emotional: “In the past few days, when I heard that more than 200 Pharmacy students of Dai Nam University are working at FPT Long Chau; more than 40 students are working as Managers, Pharmacy Managers; 01 person is working as Regional Sales Director after graduating for only 03 years... I am extremely happy that Pharmacists of Dai Nam University are highly regarded by businesses. Your maturity and success are the pride of the School and teachers”.

Dr. Le Dac Son also sent a message to Pharmacy students: “Pharmacy is the dream of millions of students after graduating from high school, but not everyone who wants to can get in. You are studying a wonderful major, gradually becoming a doctor, a high-ranking intellectual leading society. Therefore, you must clearly define your study goals and your responsibility to make medicine to save people in order to strive. In addition, participate in the cultural and sports activities of the School to improve your skills, attitudes, and ways to integrate into the community, becoming talented people contributing to the Vietnamese Pharmacy industry.”

In recognition of the efforts and achievements of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Center for Continuing Education in Pharmacy, Dai Nam University awarded Certificates of Merit for their outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the Pharmacy industry, period 2013 - 2023 to two units and expressed gratitude to individuals who have been with the company for many years and have made great contributions in the 10-year journey of building and developing the Pharmacy industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Ngoc Bung - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Preparation and Technology could not hide his emotions: “I am proud to accompany Dai Nam University in the career of cultivating people, training generations of university pharmacists, providing high-quality human resources for society. Today's achievements are due to the quickness and determination of the school's Board of Directors, the tireless efforts of teachers in the Pharmacy industry, the trust of parents, students and businesses.
