Citizenship Week – Career Orientation for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Students

On September 21, the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management solemnly organized a civic activity week for nearly 250 new students of K17 majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Attending the program, on the school side, there were Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of the school; MSc. Pham Thi Dung, Deputy Director of the Center for "Student Employment and Entrepreneurship"; Ms. Do Thu Huong, Head of Training Management Department; Mr. Hoang Tran Dang, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology; on the business side, there was the participation of Mr. Ngo Van Khiem - Co-founder of DDH Vietnam Global Logistics Co., Ltd., Founder of Itrain Import-Export and Logistics Training Center; Mr. Luong Trung Thanh - CEO of Sunway Logistics; Mr. Nguyen Van Linh representing JFM company; on the side of the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, there was Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc - Head of the Faculty along with all lecturers and more than 250 students of K17.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal welcomed nearly 250 new students of K17 who chose the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management of Dai Nam University as the place to entrust their future. Also at the citizen activity, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong also shared and disseminated the regulations, rules and obligations, regimes and policies for students so that they could grasp and better understand the regulations in the University.

In order to help students have orientation, methods and ways to quickly integrate into the university learning environment at DNU, in addition to the general orientation of the school, Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc - Head of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management introduced the training industry and the orientation of developing the training program associated with practical experience so that students have a clearer view of their major. In particular, Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc emphasized the motto of learning combined with practice, closely linked to experiential activities and internships at enterprises. The training program is associated with practical experience at enterprises so that students can be exposed to the business environment from the first semester to narrow the gap between theory and practice.

Mr. Ngo Van Khiem - Co-founder of DDH Vietnam Global Logistics Co., Ltd., founder of Itrain Import-Export and Logistics Training Center, gave a very passionate talk, sharing with students about the industry, the profession of Logistics and supply chain management from the perspective of businesses. Mr. Khiem pointed out the advantages, as well as the difficulties in the process of starting a career in the field of Logistics and supply chain management. He also shared the expectations of businesses for students majoring in Logistics and supply chain management. Solid professional knowledge, good foreign language skills, good IT skills and soft skills are essential to ensure the success of students majoring in Logistics and supply chain management in the process of starting a career. New students of K17 also heard the sharing of Mr. Luong Trung Thanh - CEO of Sunway Logistics, who inspired and helped students feel love for the school, love for the industry, love for the profession, love for the job they pursue in the future.

At the program, Ms. Pham Thi Dung introduced the activities of the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Center in equipping students with the necessary skills for graduation preparation, connecting and introducing jobs to students, developing the startup ecosystem, creating a playground for students right from when they are still in school. New students of K17 were also shared with interesting and useful safe living skills, helping them to be more positive, more energetic, dare to dream, dare to aspire, dare to change to grow up.

On behalf of K17 students, student Tran Huy Dat - Class President of Logistics 17.01 spoke his feelings and expressed his promise and determination to achieve many high achievements in studying and in union and association activities.

The program ended with exciting performances by the K17 students. What remained after the ceremony was the eagerness of the students, the excitement of the teachers in the department, together aiming to build the Logistics and Supply Chain Management department to develop more and more.
