Dai Nam Karate 'makes waves' at Hanoi student tournament

Competing with 36 universities, academies and colleges in Hanoi, Karate athletes of Dai Nam University (DNU) have won 01 Silver Medal and 02 Bronze Medals. This achievement not only affirms the talent, will and martial spirit of DNU students, but also reflects the school's efforts in building a learning environment combined with physical training, helping students to be aware of maintaining their health throughout their life journey.

Participating in this year’s tournament, DNU Karate Club hopes to spread the spirit of sportsmanship and promote the comprehensive development of “Intelligence – Strength” among students. Through this, young people have the opportunity to exchange, learn and demonstrate their abilities with professional athletes and students passionate about martial arts in Hanoi.

With determination and perseverance, the DNU Karate team competed steadfastly, bringing home 01 Silver Medal, 01 Individual Bronze Medal and 01 Collective Bronze Medal.

Specifically, in the individual Kumite event, athlete Nguyen Van Quan won a Silver Medal in the 60kg advanced category; athlete Tran Thi Thu Lan won a Bronze Medal in the over 68kg amateur category.

Bronze medals in the women's team Kumite category went to athletes: Tran Thi Thu Lan, Phan Xuan Hong, Phung Mai Linh, Trieu Thi Quynh.

For the second consecutive year, Tran Thi Thu Lan - IT class 16.02 could not help but be moved: " Representing the school and bringing home a medal is my greatest pride. The tournament not only helps me practice my skills but also learn from my opponents. I really thank the school for creating conditions for us to practice and overcome our limits."

Phung Mai Linh - class HQ 15.03, expressed: " We are always grateful for the support of the school's Board of Directors and the Youth Union, which has helped the Karate Club have the motivation to develop every day. Although we have not won a Gold Medal this year, we will be determined to practice to conquer future tournaments."

These achievements are not only the result of individual efforts, but also a testament to the sustainable development orientation of Dai Nam University, which not only focuses on academic knowledge but also raises awareness of health training for students. This will be a valuable asset for Dai Nam students to confidently step forward on the journey ahead, not only in tournaments, but also in daily life.
