DNU Film Festival "stuns" with its grandeur and professionalism "like the Oscars"

The Gala Awards Night of the “DNU Film Festival 2023” officially ended in the joy and excitement of teachers and students of Dai Nam University. This year's program scored absolute points for its grandeur and sophistication, similar to the prestigious Oscar Awards Ceremony. The guests and students truly “lived” in the spotlight when they appeared splendidly on the red carpet and were “hunted” by a team of professional, high-class photographers.

The DNU Film Festival is a practical project of the Advanced Soft Skills subject. This year, the Soft Skills Training and Development Department upgraded it to a large-scale competition, aiming to thoroughly apply theory and skills into practice; to arouse and promote all talents and creativity, creating a launching pad for the future of Dai Nam University students. This is also a form of "Experiential learning" according to the learning ecosystem "Reducing exam pressure through flexible testing and assessment suitable to learners' abilities and social requirements.

After 5 months of implementation, more than 250 entries were sent to the Organizing Committee. After a rigorous qualifying round, 70 works of art entered the final round of the DNU Film Festival. These are all films with clear scripts, attractive content, meaningful messages, meticulous post-production, and impressive acting.

After the judging process and audience voting, the 20 best works were honored and received certificates at the Gala night.

An impressive point of this year’s “DNU Film Festival” Gala is the grand, elaborate investment following the award format of an international film festival. Dressed in gorgeous costumes, students walked the red carpet, admired movie posters; took check-in photos with a team of professional photographers; participated in the grand film screening and award ceremony.

In particular, young people also had the opportunity to meet and interact with two famous actors, who are also members of the jury of this year's competition: Lanh Thanh ( When we are 25, Dear mother, I am going... ) and Ngoc Huyen ( Gara happiness, Mirror mask... ).

Speaking at the Gala night, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of the Department of Training and Soft Skills Development proudly said: "Although not trained, reluctantly becoming screenwriters, directors, actors, ... but with solidarity, you have overcome all difficulties and contributed quality products. You have affirmed the personality, talent, team spirit and the spirit of not being afraid of challenges of Dai Nam University students. Teachers are extremely proud of you".

After a serious and dedicated working process, the Jury has selected quality works with artistic value for 07 award categories and the title of Best Actor/Actress.

In the end, the film “Hidden Corner” produced by students of QHCC 15.01 won the Golden Wave Award 2023. This is a film about the hidden corners in each person's soul. Only when those hidden corners are illuminated by the light of love, can we see and feel the happiness and joy that go together.

The Silver Wave Award was given to 02 films: “Muon man” produced by students of class TTĐPT 1502 and “Nha trong ngo” by group of students of QHCC 15.01. The Promising Film Award was given to the work “Dong thoi gian” by students of class HQ 15.07 of the Korean Language and Culture Department. The film “Dinh thien” produced by students of class QTDL 15.02 won the Best Post-production award.

Outstanding post-production was awarded to the crew of “Prejudice”.

The Best Actor/Actress awards went to actors Duc Hung (film "I hate my father") and Thu Trang (film "Hidden Corner").

Sharing at the Gala night, Thu Trang could not hide her emotions: “I was surprised and happy to receive the two most prestigious awards of this year's competition. I am grateful to the teachers for creating a useful academic playground, and to the team for always making efforts, accompanying and supporting me to complete my role well.”

Actor Lanh Thanh shared: “I am truly impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of Dai Nam University students. Playing one role is already difficult. Yet you are all screenwriters, directors, cameramen, actors, post-production… It is truly admirable.”

Actors Lanh Thanh and Ngoc Huyen were impressed with the acting ability of DNU students.

Actress Ngoc Huyen also expressed: “I see in your works your dedication to the youth, to your brainchild. I myself have a lot to learn from you.”

The “DNU Film Festival” Award Gala was a great success, leaving many deep impressions on the hearts of guests, teachers and students. In the coming time, Dai Nam University will continue to organize attractive competitions on a grand scale for students to affirm their personality and talent.
