New school year 2023-2024: Change to break through!

On the morning of August 12, 2023, Dai Nam University (DNU) held a conference to summarize the 2022-2023 school year and deploy tasks for the 2023-2024 school year. This is an annual activity to comprehensively evaluate activities in the old school year and synchronously deploy tasks for the new school year in accordance with the strategic vision of the School. All staff, lecturers and employees are ready to enter the new school year with the mindset: Confidently completing the targets set by the School Council.

Speaking at the Conference, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council affirmed: "The current strategy of the university is a comprehensive solution built by the University Council and the Board of Directors to create differences for DNU compared to other universities in Vietnam. This strategy is the backbone, the soul for the strong development of Dai Nam University from now until 2030".

Accordingly, Dr. Le Dac Son gave strong instructions on solutions and steps to achieve the goals in the period of 2023 - 2027, vision 2037 (30 years of establishment) of Dai Nam University. Specifically:

About the mission: Training students to have a good life and be good citizens after graduation; Contributing to promoting changes in Vietnamese higher education.

To achieve the above mission, the School Board first identifies the top priority task as “Making cadres, lecturers and employees have a good life” based on the correct assessment of the work results of all members to pay material and spiritual remuneration to each person. Building a dynamic - fair - friendly working environment. Ensuring that the salary level at DNU is higher than the salary corresponding to the job at another university in Hanoi. Always creating opportunities for learning and advancement so that everyone can feel secure working for the school for life.

In training: Must ensure output standards meet the needs of employers and fulfill the mission on the basis of building and regularly reviewing conditions to ensure output standards. These are training programs, facilities, learning materials, good teaching staff...

In addition, promote international cooperation programs with major training institutions in the world (Dai Nam University's No. 1 priority is American universities) so that students can reach out to the world and affirm their name in the international market. Continue to promote cooperation in training enterprises to consolidate the model of classroom - enterprise more firmly and effectively.

Regarding the planning target: By 2027, reach the training scale of 20,000 - 25,000 students studying annually. By 2030, DNU becomes the TOP CHOICE of learners with the majors being trained at the school.

Vision to 2037, reaching a training scale of 40,000 - 45,000 students studying annually. Dai Nam University will become Dai Nam University and the number 1 educational institution in Vietnam for "young Vietnamese people who want to study abroad but do not have the opportunity to do so".

Dr. Le Dac Son emphasized: To effectively implement the school's development strategy, the work of "Human resource organization" is the most important. Accordingly, cadres at all levels from the School Council, Board of Directors, Faculties, Departments, Boards, Institutes, and Centers must truly be leaders, role models, and inspire the staff and employees under their authority to complete their tasks.

Strictly prohibit and immediately discipline cadres, lecturers and employees who take advantage of their positions and the trust of their superiors to make things difficult for others, affect the progress and reputation of the school (units, individuals in the school and external partners of the school) or gain personal or unit benefits. Leaders at all levels must not abuse their power, must not form cliques in the school, but must wholeheartedly guide newly recruited cadres and employees to the school.

Reporting on the results of the 2022-2023 school year, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong - President of Dai Nam University said: The quick, timely, and appropriate direction of the University Council in line with trends and social needs has brought positive results throughout the system.

Accordingly, the enrollment work was carried out methodically, creatively, synchronously, and in accordance with regulations; "reaching the target" target.

Training and quality assurance work has reaped many achievements with 04 training programs achieving educational quality accreditation, opening 03 new majors, and shortening the study time to 3 - 4.5 years (applied from K17).

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong affirmed: Dai Nam University will make further breakthroughs and explosions in the 2023-2024 school year.

The teaching staff has increased in both quantity and quality. In the last school year, Dai Nam University attracted more than 150 staff; bringing the total number of staff, lecturers and employees to nearly 1,000 people.

Scientific research marked an important milestone when the Dai Nam University Science Journal was scored 0.25 points by the State Council of Professors of Economics according to the list of scientific journals; the number of works published domestically and internationally increased gradually over the years.

Business cooperation and student support have been promoted, the "Student Employment and Entrepreneurship" Center was established and successfully organized the 2023 Job Fair program and many training courses to supplement students' skills; connect alumni...

1. Continue to focus resources to increase enrollment targets in 2024.

2. Develop 03-05 more university training programs, 01-02 international joint programs; Start building and implementing some distance training programs.

3. Focus on building and perfecting processes in managing the school's activities, ISOizing and applying technology in key activities such as enrollment, training, LMS, student management, testing, quality assurance, human resources, finance, etc.

4. Continue to promote and support teaching and assessment activities. Invest resources in teaching staff.

5. Focus on building organizational culture, clearly defining the image of Dai Nam University's staff, lecturers and students in the direction of a modern and professional culture, friendly and cohesive, responsible and effective.

6. Promote academic activities, enhance scientific research publication activities, and increase Webometrics ranking indicators.

7. Focus on building and developing digital science resources, standardizing lectures and teaching materials.

8. Promote student movement activities, effectively promote business connection activities, job connection and financial support sources for students.

9. Develop job position project, job position description, KPIs, gradually increase income according to the principles of quality - efficiency - transparency.

10. Invest in facilities and equipment to support teaching, learning, practice and experimentation activities.
