Practical experience at businesses, students "pocket" knowledge, skills and investment opportunities

Promoting the training model of Lecture Hall - Enterprise; thoroughly applying the motto "Practical training, real combat according to the "orders" of enterprises", the Faculty of Finance and Banking (TCNH) regularly organizes practical and internship activities at enterprises for students to practice and accumulate experience. Visiting, experiencing and studying at FPT Securities Joint Stock Company (FPTS) is one of such activities.

The business lecture hall model of the Faculty of Finance and Banking has concretized the training strategy of Dai Nam University: Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship; The model helps the school and businesses together train students to accurately and quickly meet the employment needs of society.

Recently, the Faculty of Finance and Banking organized a field trip for 2nd and 3rd year students to experience and study at FPT Securities Joint Stock Company - Hanoi Branch (Tay Ho, Hanoi). The program is part of the Stock Market course, aiming to help students approach the actual operations of the stock market at enterprises.

At the program, Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Mai - Head of FPTS Investment Consulting Group shared basic issues of the stock market and job opportunities in the field. At the same time, the expert also shared details about job positions at a securities company such as: Analyst, corporate finance consultant, investment consultant... with attractive income up to 8 figures/month.

Ms. Ngoc Mai shared: “To become a staff member of a securities company, in addition to professional knowledge, candidates are required to have passion, perseverance, meticulousness, the ability to receive and analyze information, and understanding of IT…”

During the experience session, Mr. Pham Binh Minh - Consultant instructed students on how to read stock price lists, payment times, how to buy and sell stocks... From there, students had a more general view of the stock market, knew how to read and follow the trading floor.

Mr. Binh Minh also emphasized: To pursue a career in securities, students need to cultivate communication skills via phone, email; reading comprehension, analysis skills; presentation skills; teamwork; time management; persuasion skills...

Also in the program, students visit the workplace of each department. At the trading room, students are supported by specialists to open accounts to practice investing in stocks.

Nguyen Phuong Thao - student of TCNH class 15.02 shared: "I feel that the practical training program is very useful and practical for students. I plan to save some money to invest in stocks. Partly to learn, partly to gain more experience about the market. Hopefully with the knowledge I have learned, I will be able to choose a good investment portfolio for myself."

The practical session helped students gain more useful knowledge, as well as better understand the professional and dynamic working environment of the Vietnamese stock market; at the same time, it opened up many internship and job opportunities for students.

In addition to the Stock Market course, students of the Finance and Banking faculty continue to experience businesses and meet experts in the following courses: Bank Credit, Corporate Financial Analysis, Investment Project Appraisal, etc.
