Presenting a copy of Dong Son bronze drum: Strengthening the relationship between Dai Nam University and Vietnam Private Hospital Association

The Vietnam Private Hospital Association is a strategic partner to “protect” the output for students of the Health sector of Dai Nam University. Recently, in the scholarship program for medical students (each student received 15 million VND), the Association also presented Dai Nam University with an extremely meaningful Dong Son bronze drum (made of red copper, gold-plated, cast by traditional manual methods, made by famous artisans).
Talking about the reason for donating the bronze drum to Dai Nam University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Private Hospital Association shared: “This bronze drum is a version of the Dong Son bronze drum - a symbolic relic of the formation and development period of ancient Vietnamese civilization; a feng shui item symbolizing power, demonstrating authority. This is also one of the sacred symbols of the people of Thanh Hoa”.
Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van De presented a souvenir bronze drum to Dai Nam University.
Receiving this meaningful gift, President of Dai Nam University Le Dac Son was moved to share: “I really love and respect Mr. De. The bronze drum that he gave is a special gift for Dai Nam University because the logo of Dai Nam University was designed based on a version of the Dong Son bronze drum. An image that represents the pride of the prosperity and longevity of the Vietnamese people”.
This is also a meaningful gift to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two sides. In addition, the Vietnam Private Hospital Association also accompanies students throughout their studies at the school through awarding scholarships; supporting practical training, internships and participating in professional activities in the Association's hospital chain.
The bronze drum donated by the Vietnam Private Hospital Association is displayed in the lobby on the first floor of the Central Building.
In addition to the Dong Son bronze drum, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van De also presented a Sala tree - a sacred Buddhist tree, symbolizing understanding and looking at life; always loving and caring for each other. This meaningful gift was directed by the School's Board of Directors to be planted right at the beginning of the Teacher Street, evoking the image of a lecturer at Dai Nam University who always understands, loves, is close to, advises, protects and guides generations of students.
Giving trees is a cultural tradition of Dai Nam University, enthusiastically responded by businesses, partners, generations of staff, lecturers and students. Each tree planted not only beautifies the landscape and space of the school, but also brings a fresh, green learning environment for students, contributing to protecting the living environment of the community and society.
The leaders of Dai Nam University and the Vietnam Private Hospital Association took a souvenir photo next to the Sala tree.
Sala flowers in full bloom have become a familiar "virtual living" meeting place at Dai Nam University.
The sacred bronze drum imbued with national identity and the tall, green Sala tree are meaningful gifts, reminding us of the attitude of respecting the past to always look forward to building the future. With the support of the Vietnam Private Hospital Association, Dai Nam University will continue to spread and promote traditional values; educate students to develop comprehensively, be grateful and cherish the cultural values left by our ancestors.
