"Red rain" falls from the sky over Dai Nam University.
On the evening of December 11, 2025, Lecture Hall 1 of Dai Nam University was packed early as hundreds of students relived the heroic 81-day and 81-night battle at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972 through the screening of the film "Red Rain". The enthusiastic interest and response from the audience demonstrated the appeal of a valuable historical film and the burning patriotic spirit in the young generation of Dai Nam University.

Just a few hours after opening the registration link for the movie screening, the organizers received over 700 registrations.
Recreating the 81 days and nights of tragic events at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.
"Red Rain" transported viewers back to the 81 fierce days and nights at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972 – a place where countless soldiers, including eighteen- and twenty-year-old students, put aside their studies to go to war and fell defending every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland. The authentic and emotionally rich footage transformed the auditorium into a serene space, where history was not only recounted but also felt with the heart.

There were moments when the entire hall fell silent, filled with sorrow over the immense loss; there were scenes that evoked a sense of pride in the viewers; and there were also silent tears shed as they thought about the youth sacrificed on the battlefield. Student Nguyen Hong Anh - K18, Faculty of English Language, couldn't hide her emotions: "There were scenes in the film that made me cry without even realizing it. 'Red Rain' not only showed me the brutality of war, but also made me understand that today's peace was bought with the youth and the entire lives of our ancestors. From that, I feel much more love for my country and also remind myself to live more responsibly towards myself, my family, and society."
