On the morning of February 25, Dai Nam University solemnly held the 68th Anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - July 27, 2023). The ceremony was a tribute and honor, and also an opportunity for the School's leaders, staff, lecturers, and students of the Health Department of Dai Nam University to share their will, determination, aspirations, and concerns for the career of training human resources for the health sector.

The program was attended by: Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Council; Board of Directors; Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh - Head of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Nguyen Thi Vinh Hue - Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy; MSc. Le Van Duy - Head of the Faculty of Nursing along with all staff, lecturers, students of the Health sector and representatives of parents.

The entire hall was solemn and moved to listen to President Ho Chi Minh's advice in the letter to medical staff.

“Always put medical ethics first; love the sick as your own relatives and care for and treat them with all your heart…”

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son congratulated and expressed gratitude to Vietnamese doctors, teachers and students of the Health Department of Dai Nam University. Dr. Le Dac Son said: Over the past 10 years, the Health Department has made great strides in development, training and providing society with a high-quality workforce of Pharmacists and Nurses; which has been well-regarded and trusted by many businesses.

“The achievements of the students are the pride of the school. And to achieve this, we must mention the dedication and wholeheartedness of the teachers. During the 2 years of the pandemic, we could not study directly, but the teachers of the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Nursing have made every effort so that students would not have their studies interrupted, and would master the necessary knowledge and skills according to the training program. I acknowledge the contributions of the teachers of the Health Department and believe that in the coming time, the teachers will do a better job in training a team of doctors, pharmacists, and nurses who are both virtuous and professional, providing high-quality human resources for society…”

Dr. Le Dac Son advised teachers and students of the Health Department: Always put medical ethics first.

Dr. Le Dac Son gave special congratulations to the students of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing. “Congratulations to you for overcoming the great challenge of the entrance exam; choosing and determined to pursue to the end the profession that is necessary in all times and is honored by the whole society, the profession with the greatest recruitment demand in the world. I believe that, with the updated training program, good foreign language proficiency, you will certainly have a good job with a worthy income after graduation...”

Doctors are the ones who directly save the lives of patients, deciding the life or death of a patient with just one sentence. Therefore, Dr. Le Dac Son advised students of the Health Department: “If you choose and commit to the medical profession, you must accept hardships, even sacrifices. But that is a source of pride because not everyone who wants to become a Doctor, Pharmacist, or Nurse can do it. I hope that during your studies, you should balance your life by participating in clubs, cultural and sports activities, etc. to connect with friends; how can you both study and have a happy life to complete 6 years of studying Medicine, 5 years of studying Pharmacy and 4 years of Nursing. Especially, during your studies and later when you start working, always put medical ethics first. Love the sick like your own relatives and take care of them with all your heart…”

Finally, Dr. Le Dac Son would like to thank the parents who have trusted their children to study Health at Dai Nam University.

“I hope that parents will join the school in the process of educating students. We will build a system connecting information from the school to parents, so that you can review your children's learning situation; at the same time, together with the school, monitor and guide students to study well, graduate and find work and have a peaceful life,” said Dr. Le Dac Son.

Dr. Le Dac Son presented flowers to congratulate teachers and students of the Health Department.

Striving for the Health sector to reach new heights

On behalf of teachers and students of the Health Department, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh would like to thank the school's Board of Directors, especially the parents who have trusted and entrusted their children's future to Dai Nam University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh shares the concerns of a physician and teacher in the career of training the next generation of human resources for the health sector.

“That trust makes us – the doctors and teachers of the Health Department of Dai Nam University – feel even more responsible in teaching and learning. On behalf of the Health Department, I promise to work with my colleagues and students to teach well and learn well. How can we make it so that every time we put on our white coats and go to work at medical facilities and businesses, students can proudly say that they graduated from Dai Nam University. When recruiting, medical units and businesses will immediately think of students of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing from Dai Nam University.”

My child said: “I really love this training environment...”

Representing the parents of the Health sector, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Mai - a medical officer with more than 30 years of experience, still cherishes the determination to let her child pursue a career in Medicine, shared: “Before sending my child to Dai Nam University, I was a bit worried about the quality of the school's medical training. However, after a period of time my child studied, I found that the medical training framework of the school is similar to that of prestigious medical schools. In particular, the school focuses on training in foreign languages and soft skills so that students can develop comprehensively and confidently conquer the career of their choice. My family and I are completely assured when entrusting our "fortune" to Dai Nam University. My child said that he really loves the training environment at DNU…”

Parents' representatives presented flowers to congratulate teachers on Vietnamese Doctors' Day.

I feel extremely happy to study at Dai Nam University.

Pham Thi Hong Nhung – a student of Pharmacy class 16.02 could not hide her pride when sharing: “ Choosing Dai Nam University is the best decision of my life. Not only focusing on training quality and teaching staff, the school also actively connects with businesses so that we can be trained by businesses themselves. After graduating, we quickly get into the swing of things, and businesses do not have to spend much time retraining…”

On behalf of the students of the Health Department, Pham Thi Hong Nhung promises to voluntarily comply with the school's rules and regulations; to master professional skills to become worthy doctors with talent and virtue in the future, contributing to the construction and development of the homeland.

Health students show gratitude to teachers.
