University students flock to DNU to "conquer" the Japanese Talent Search Contest

The first Japanese Talent Search Contest for Private Schools organized by the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture of Dai Nam University (DNU) attracted the participation of many students from many private universities in the North. The contest is not only an academic playground but also an opportunity for young people to express their passion for Japanese language and culture.

Attending the event were Mr. Ito Naoki - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, Mr. Nakashima Yusuke - Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; Ms. FujiMai, senior Japanese language expert of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, along with leaders of private universities teaching Japanese and participating candidates.

On the side of Dai Nam University, there were the presence of: Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Hong - President of Dai Nam University; Dr. Vu Thuy Nga - Head of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, Dai Nam University; Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Chung Toan - Professional Advisor of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, Dai Nam University.

Speaking at the program, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong affirmed the importance of Japanese Language in the university training system in general and Dai Nam University in particular.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Hong: “We expect this intellectual and useful playground to create a premise for young Vietnamese people to improve their Japanese language skills, accumulate knowledge and experience about the country, culture, technology, and education of Japan. At the same time, young people will promote their ability to apply, start a business, innovate and create, making positive contributions to future development.”

Ambassador Ito Naoki - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam hopes: "I hope you will continuously improve your Japanese language skills, become a bridge between Vietnam and Japan, and contribute to tightening the relationship between the two countries in the future."

The judges of this year's competition are experts, lecturers from universities teaching Japanese, representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the JF Foundation and businesses.

The contest is judged on three criteria: Japanese accuracy, content, and presentation style. The maximum time for each entry is 4 minutes and 30 seconds for the beginner level, 5 minutes for the intermediate level, and 5 minutes for the talent section.

The contestants delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating their creativity and individual abilities in the talent competition.

After 3 rounds of competition, the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, Dai Nam University is proud of 3 students with excellent achievements:

  • Nguyen Thi Thu Tra NB15 - First Prize (Japanese Speech Contest, Advanced Intermediate level);
  • Do Thi Ngoc Linh NB16 - First Prize (Japanese Speaking Contest, Elementary Level);
  • Pham Van Phuc NB17 - Second Prize (Talent Competition)

The jury representative awarded prizes to the contestants.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Chung Toan and Dr. Vu Thuy Nga presented awards to the first prize winner of the Intermediate-Advanced competition.

Mr. Nakashima, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and the CEO of the company presented awards to the contestants.

The contest ended in an atmosphere of excitement and pride among students and supporters from private universities across the North. Dai Nam University continues to affirm its position as one of the leading units in investing in Japanese language education, with many large-scale speech contests and cultural events.

Over the years, the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, Dai Nam University has always received active support from the school, businesses, and organizations at home and abroad.
