03 meaningful messages from Dr. Le Dac Son to students, lecturers, and parents on the occasion of the unprecedented opening day in the history of DNU

On behalf of the School Council, the Board of Directors and more than 800 officers, lecturers and staff of Dai Nam University, I warmly welcome the distinguished guests, parents and all students of Dai Nam University. In particular, I welcome 2,500 new students of K15. Welcome you to officially join and become official members of the Dai Nam University family!

Today, Dai Nam University held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2021-2022 and welcomed new students of K15 on the occasion of Uncle Ho's letter to the Vietnamese education sector, October 15. This is also a special opening ceremony that has never happened in the history of the education sector and the history of Dai Nam University over the past decades. It is an online opening ceremony and welcome K.

Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear students!

At this solemn opening ceremony, on behalf of the School Board, I would like to send 3 messages to the students, staff and parents.

Message 1: To Dai Nam University students

Dear students! The Covid-19 pandemic is raging all over the world. In Vietnam, the pandemic is still developing extremely dangerously, causing many losses in human lives and property. However, we still have to find solutions to live together; to work to develop the economy; to study, go to school, and graduate on the right path in life.

You are entering a very special new school year, not being able to go to school to study directly, meet teachers and friends. But we have an alternative, which is online learning tools. Although it is not as good as studying directly at school, with teachers. But this is the most optimal solution. Students all over the world are using it to overcome the pandemic, ensuring their studies. Therefore, you must focus on studying well from the beginning. Absolutely do not have the idea that online is temporary, waiting for the day to go in person. If the pandemic lasts, we may even have to accept studying online for 1 year, 2 years...

Dr. Le Dac Son officially beat the drum to open the 2021-2022 school year.

Dear children!

University is not the only way to study. You have many paths and many different choices when leaving high school. However, humanity has proven that university is the shortest, most stable, and most decisive path for people to grow up and succeed in all aspects of life.

You are the lucky young people who were raised and educated by your parents. 50% of students after graduating from high school do not have the conditions to go to university and have to do manual labor to earn a living. Therefore, you must always remember and be grateful to your parents and study hard to be worthy.

4,5,6 years of university are hard but they go by very quickly. These are the best years of your life and they will follow you for the rest of your life. I wish you success!

The opening ceremony and welcoming ceremony for new students of K15 is special and unprecedented in the history of DNU.

Message 2: To the staff and lecturers of Dai Nam University

Dear teachers!

We are a family, sharing the same mission of educating and training generations of students. Teachers are also fathers and mothers with children of school age and all hope that their children will study with good and excellent teachers. Therefore, each teacher of Dai Nam must have the mindset of teaching students as if teaching their own children. If we do not devote ourselves to our students, then do not expect the teachers who are teaching our children to devote themselves to them. That is the law. What you give is what you receive.

There are no bad students, only bad teachers. When students refuse to study, drop out of school, or get poor results in exams, the first fault lies with the teacher who teaches them directly in class. Then it is the fault of the dean, the principal, and finally the fault of the head of the school. We are at fault with the students and their families. Therefore, I ask teachers to be imbued with that mindset in their profession.

The ceremony was recorded live at the studio, broadcast live on the Zoom webinar system with more than 5,000 attendees and broadcast live on the school's fanpage system.

The pandemic may last longer, online learning may last longer, so teachers must consider this a new learning method that they must accept in order to teach thoroughly, from dressing, going to class, lecturing, managing class, managing learning quality... Absolutely do not have a temporary mindset to wait for direct learning.

Dear teachers!

We are people working in the field of education. This is a particularly important field, deciding the development or decline of the nation. Whether we can live with our heads held high or not depends on the quality of university education.

We all see the humiliation of citizens of a poor country in the international arena. Therefore, Vietnamese educators in general and DNU teachers in particular must do their best to provide good training.

Teachers must strive to improve their skills to teach students. There are no good teachers without good students.

I hope that every year thousands of bachelors, engineers, pharmacists, and doctors from Dai Nam graduate and become shining stars that spread throughout Vietnam to contribute to building a sustainable Vietnam.

I believe we can do it.

Message 3: To Parents

Dear parents!

I have been working in the education sector for over 40 years. I have many friends who are principals of large public universities such as the University of Technology, Foreign Trade University, etc. I often ask them: “Have you ever lost sleep because your students do not have jobs after graduating?” The teachers all remained silent in response to the answer of no. As for me, I have had many sleepless nights when I heard the news that my students have not had jobs for several months after graduating or have not had good jobs as they wished.

I would like to thank you for trusting the school. We will do our best to not disappoint that trust. We understand that behind a university degree is the solid growth of students throughout their lives. Therefore, from the very first days of its establishment, Dai Nam has built a different training motto. Building student output standards according to competency standards, including: Knowledge - Skills and Positive Attitude. In the near future, thousands of Dai Nam graduates will be shining stars all over the country.

We hope that parents will always cooperate with the school in managing, teaching and training their children.

Finally, I would like to declare the opening of the new school year 2021-2022. Thank you for the presence of the distinguished guests who took the time to attend the opening ceremony with us. I wish the distinguished guests, teachers, parents, and students good health and safety during the Covid pandemic. We believe that one day in the near future we will meet each other, shake hands and start a new normal life.
