Advice for block A candidates to study and review for the national high school exam

GD&TĐ - From the sample exam questions of the Ministry of Education and Training, teachers of Vietnam - Australia High School (Hanoi) have given useful advice to help block A candidates confidently pass the upcoming national high school exam.

Ms. Hoang Thanh Ngan: 5 notes on Math

The sample exam for Mathematics of the Ministry of Education and Training clearly shows the levels: Recognition, understanding, application, high application through 10 questions with 12 ideas and a reasonable score distribution. From there, teachers and students can clearly see the structure of the review program.

However, to achieve both goals: passing the graduation exam and being admitted to university or college, there are some issues to note as follows:

Firstly, during the review process, teachers need to train students in writing skills that are clear, accurate, and logical, to avoid losing points due to incorrect marking regulations.

Second, systematize knowledge to meet the very broad and unfamiliar amount of knowledge in the exam.

Third, Be active in teacher-student, student-student and self-assessment; thereby training students to detect errors in their own writing and that of their friends, thereby drawing experience for themselves to improve the skill of checking their writing after taking the test.

Fourth, students need to pay attention to practicing test-taking skills in mock tests. Specifically, read the entire test, read carefully and understand the requirements of the questions; number the questions from easy to difficult according to your ability to save time.

Finally, check your work after completing 50% of the test, continue to work and check after completing another 20% of the questions. Complete the test to the best of your ability and check the entire test, submit the test when the time is up, do not submit early to avoid errors that can be discovered after submitting the test.

Teacher Mai Duc Hanh: To graduate in Chemistry, you only need to have basic knowledge.

The Ministry of Education and Training's Chemistry sample test consists of 50 questions, all of which are in the general education program; of which about 50% are theory questions and 50 exercises.

In terms of difficulty, about 40% of the theoretical questions are easy, at a level that average students can do. These questions are similar to the high school graduation exam questions of previous years.

40% of the questions are difficult exercises, requiring time-consuming calculations and in-depth application of a lot of general knowledge. These questions are similar to the difficult questions of the previous university entrance exams, only good students can do them.

The remaining 20% are questions that require students to understand and apply theory well, as well as have knowledge to apply in daily life.

I especially appreciate the highly applicable questions, such as: Question 11, Question 27, Question 34, Question 35. These questions help students love Chemistry more and see the role and position of this subject in real life.

It can be said that the sample test has ensured the appropriate level for students taking the graduation exam, while also classifying and selecting candidates to help with university admission.

With the exam format, students who only take the exam for graduation only need to study the basic knowledge and do exercises in the textbook, mainly grade 12 and some chapters of grades 10 and 11, to be able to achieve from 5 to 7 points.

For students who register for university entrance exams, in addition to mastering basic knowledge, they must equip themselves with methods to quickly solve chemistry problems. On the other hand, they must practice techniques and skills to solve problems in university entrance exams from previous years, because the difficult questions are similar in format to those in previous years.

Teacher Nguyen Minh Thao: The reduced sections no longer appear in the Physics exam.

The structure of the Physics sample test of the Ministry of Education and Training remains the same as the 2014 university entrance exam. The test consists of 50 questions, the knowledge content is mainly from the basic Physics 12 program. The reduced parts no longer appear in the test. In addition, the test also has 1 question related to physics experiments and some questions related to reality.

In the exam, there are about 50% easy questions that can be completed quickly; 20% are questions that require some transformations, short reasoning and 30% are difficult questions. In particular, about 5 strange and very difficult questions are for good students with analytical and judgmental minds to be able to achieve maximum score.

With this type of sample test, students need to master the basic knowledge in the textbook, both theory and exercises; review the skills and knowledge of Physics practice exercises. Students must understand the nature deeply, combined with memorizing quick calculation formulas;

Candidates need to study and review regularly to avoid interrupting their learning inspiration and avoid feeling bored with the subject. They should practice summarizing the chapters early to avoid the phenomenon of learning one chapter and forgetting another.

Each student should have a summary sheet, posted in front of the desk for easy reference when doing homework; a notebook to record new knowledge or knowledge they often forget.

In addition, candidates should participate in practice tests to get used to the time pressure and real test environment. During the test, remember to avoid difficult questions and do them last. Read the questions one by one, and do the questions that define how to answer them right away. At the same time, combine the skills of elimination and prediction to find the results of difficult questions.
