Accounting is always in the “hot” career group, chosen by many students when applying to study at universities. So why do many students decide to choose accounting instead of hundreds, thousands of other jobs?

“Immense” job opportunities
Accounting plays an indispensable role in the economic and financial management of units. The Accounting Law 2015 issued on November 20, 2015 stipulates that all units in all sectors of the national economy must conduct accounting work. Therefore, any agency or enterprise needs at least one accountant.
This means that the accounting profession is a huge job market. According to the latest statistics, there are currently more than 528,000 businesses operating nationwide. Let me tell you a secret, the Government's goal is to have about 1 million businesses by 2020. Depending on the size, each business needs 2-5 accountants, multiplied by 1 million businesses, it is a "huge" number, right?
Stable job
Accountants usually work in an office during office hours (except in special cases such as when it is time to prepare an accounting report, they may have to work overtime). The content of accounting work also changes little, so you only need about 8 months to a year to master the job. Due to the stable nature of the job, accounting is very suitable for women. Women working as accountants have more conditions to take care of their own families.
Although the accounting profession is quite stable, it does not mean that it is monotonous or boring. Your work must always adhere to and apply the new policies of the State, as well as the new regulations of the unit on economic and financial management. With that reality, being an accountant requires you to grasp new laws and regulations... quickly to perform your work. In the fiercely competitive environment between economic units today, in addition to performing accounting work proficiently, you also need to have advice for the leader so that the unit operates more and more effectively.
Stable income and increasing trend
One of the good reasons why you should pursue an accounting career is that this job brings a stable income. Although there is no exact figure for the salary of an accountant because it depends on the regime of the place you are working as well as your own capacity and experience, in general, the salary of an accountant is quite high. The salary of a newly graduated accounting bachelor usually ranges from 4-6 million, if you have 1-2 years of experience, it is 6-8 million VND/month. Many private companies and foreign companies are willing to pay 1,000-1,500 USD/month for their accounting staff. And once you have climbed to the position of chief accountant, an income of 2,000 USD is very normal.
No natural talent needed
Unlike some arts and engineering fields that require the pursuer to have talent or intelligence, the accounting profession requires more strictness in terms of personality than innate talent. Accountants need two virtues most: Honesty and Carefulness. Accountants must provide honest information about the financial activities of the unit so that the users of the information can make the right decisions.
Besides, this profession is always associated with documents, books, and papers containing numbers that "tell" about the financial situation of the unit, so accountants must be careful in preserving documents as well as calculating numbers.
You will become an outstanding accountant if you have more creativity, a broad knowledge base, the ability to synthesize, analyze, and evaluate sharply to be able to advise information users to make the right decisions.
To achieve these things, the vocational training environment plays a decisive role. In our country today, almost any university that trains economics has an accounting major. This is both beneficial and disadvantageous for students. Many universities with different admission requirements will help many students have the opportunity to access a professional accounting training environment, but at the same time, it also makes students confused, not knowing which school has good quality.
