Captain Lai Vu Hoang Anh: "The more difficult, the more worthy the result"

From a "rich kid" with a shy nature, afraid to interact with strangers, Lai Vu Hoang Anh - a former student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University became the Captain of the Student Volunteer Team (SVTN) for the 2017-2018 term, knowing how to think for others from the smallest things. Hoang Anh always believes that "the more difficult, the more worthy the achievement".

From "rich kid" to responsible captain

Having known about the Dai Nam University (DNU) Student Volunteer Team since his first days at the school, Lai Vu Hoang Anh was impressed by the enthusiasm of the youth and the rapid maturity of the members. It was this enthusiasm to integrate into this environment that made Hoang Anh confident enough to apply to join the team.

Born into a wealthy family in Son La, Hoang Anh joined the SVTN Team because of the influence of everyone. “ With a shy nature, I was afraid of interacting with strangers, so when I first joined the Team, I was not really sociable; but after more than a year of joining, with the friendliness of my teammates, I gradually changed that personality. I was completely comfortable in communicating, even with friends and siblings I had just met for the first time ,” Hoang Anh confided.

Hoang Anh came to the DNU SVTN Team with a spirit of dedication.

Mr. Dang Vu Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Former Captain of the DNU SVTN Team, who closely followed Hoang Anh's growth from the first day he joined the Team until he became the team leader, commented: During the first year of joining the Team, Hoang Anh had not yet fully demonstrated the qualities of a leader.

Hoang Anh also admitted that before joining the volunteer team, there were many things he had never done or was afraid to do, but when he joined the team and saw his friends doing them and they were all daily tasks, he started to join them. " At first, I was nervous and didn't really do my best, but gradually I got used to it. Those tasks are now very normal for me, " Hoang Anh said.

Many memorable memories together.

Thanks to his efforts, Hoang Anh was trusted by the whole team and elected as Captain of the SVTN Team for the 2017-2018 term and excellently completed the assigned tasks.

“ Being assigned the responsibility of leading a team of more than 100 people as a team leader, although I was a bit bewildered, I felt very happy about this task. I gradually got used to strictly managing myself, practicing how to organize work for the whole team, taking care of every meal for the team when working all day; understanding the personality of each person to resolve problems. I also gradually got used to responsibilities that I had never known before. Thanks to the guidance of the previous team leaders, I was able to complete the assigned tasks well, ” said Hoang Anh.

Dedication and worthy "results"

During the 2017-2018 term, Captain Lai Vu Hoang Anh led the DNU SVTN Team to achieve memorable achievements. The team successfully completed a series of programs such as: Green Summer 2017, Warm Porridge 2017-2018, Warm Winter 2017-2018, traditional camp on the school's founding day (November 14, 2017)...

“ The most memorable memory was the time the whole team participated in the Green Summer campaign 2017 in Nam Cuoi commune, Sin Ho, Lai Chau. When all members were not from the same family, not from the same hometown, maybe only knew each other for a few months, they could take care of each other like brothers, share joys and sorrows, and have fun together after days of work so tiring that they couldn’t even lift their feet to walk ” – Hoang Anh confided.

The whole team went together through many meaningful programs.

Hoang Anh shared: “ Through the time of growing up and developing with the volunteer house, I feel that I have learned a lot, become more mature, and know how to think for others from the smallest things. I have really changed from my working attitude and the way I communicate with people .”

Talking about the future direction, Hoang Anh hopes that the DNU SVTN Team will continue to develop and have more achievements in its activities. “ Looking back at the journey we have gone through with so many difficulties for the whole team; but it is from these difficulties that the whole team has grown and moved forward. The more difficult it is, the more worthy the results we receive. Promoting the team spirit, each member must always try to be the volunteer flame that always burns with all their heart for volunteering ” – Hoang Anh shared more.
