Dai Nam University organizes "Seminar on Learning Methods for Medical Students"

To achieve these output standards, medical students first need to master the learning methods at university level right from the beginning of their studies as well as understand the unique and different characteristics of teaching and learning medicine. To help students answer the above questions, the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University organizes a seminar on learning methods for medical students.

The Seminar was held online on the Ms Team platform from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 13, 2021. The program had the participation of representatives of the Board of Directors, heads/deputy heads of units in the school.

In particular, the Seminar was attended by leading experts in the field of Medicine, such as: Associate Professor, Doctor, Senior Lecturer Hoang Duc Hanh - former Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University; Associate Professor, Doctor Pham Trung Kien - Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU), Assistant to the Chairman of the Council of Dai Nam University on Medicine; representatives of lecturers from universities of Medicine and Pharmacy in Hanoi; former students of the Hanoi Medical University... and all staff, lecturers, and students of K14, K15 of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University.

Associate Professor, PhD, Associate Professor Hoang Duc Hanh said: “ With a specific field of study that requires high knowledge - skills - attitudes like Medicine, if students do not have the right motivation, purpose, and learning methods from the beginning, it will be very difficult to achieve good learning results, overcome 6 years of hard study to graduate on time. The seminar not only helps students master effective learning methods at university level but also helps build and develop an active learning movement in the medical student community of Dai Nam University...”

Attending the Seminar, Dai Nam University Medical students will be shared by experts about effective learning methods at university level; teaching and learning Medicine - the differences; directly interact with lecturers and former students of Hanoi Medical University about their experiences studying Medicine at university...

Pham Duy Hung - a student of class YDK 15-02 shared: “During the first weeks of university, I was shocked by the amount of knowledge I had to absorb. Although in each class, the teachers shared more about how to study at university. However, when we learned that the faculty organized a seminar on learning methods for medical students, we were very happy. This is an opportunity for first-year students like me to exchange, learn and equip ourselves with effective university study methods to pursue our passion to the end…”

Similarly, Nguyen Thi Anh Duong - a student of class YDK 14-01 also looks forward to and hopes that the Seminar program will help her gain more experience and effective learning methods to master the increasingly large amount of knowledge in the following school years.
