DNU students look as gorgeous as Hollywood stars at Dai Nam Film Festival The New Wave – season 2

As part of the Advanced Soft Skills exam, the Film Festival - The New Wave has become an extremely "phenomenal", creative and meaningful annual event that not only attracts those who "have to take the exam" but also attracts a large number of students and alumni of Dai Nam University to participate. Because it not only explores the hidden potential and passion for the 7th art but is also a creative learning activity, cohesion and especially teamwork skills, internal and external communication of each person. On a larger scale, the DNU Film Festival also helps students "say goodbye to the fear of exams", in line with the school's policy of "Reducing exam pressure through flexible testing and assessment methods suitable to the learner's capacity and social requirements".

Sharing at the Film Festival, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice President of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University could not hide her emotion at the elaborate organization of the Soft Skills Department, the enthusiastic and serious participation of the students: "To complete a film (an exam), it requires the participation of a large team. But with only a few members, you are the director, screenwriter, actor, post-production... I really admire your talent, creativity and dedication. Attending the Film Festival today, I felt like I was "lost" in the Oscar awards ceremony, very professional and magnificent. Congratulations to your exams for being successful beyond expectations"...

The program format is taken from the International Film Festival Awards Ceremony, with the participation of famous TV actors.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development Department shared: In addition to expertise, Dai Nam University pays special attention to training soft skills and attitudes - the decisive factors for students' success or failure in the labor market. The Department will have to make more efforts in creating new and attractive exam formats; creating useful playgrounds for students to thoroughly apply theory and skills into practice, unleashing all their talents and creativity, creating a launching pad to position their personal brand; helping them confidently integrate, establish themselves, start a career and pursue their passion.

After 3 months of implementation, nearly 400 entries were sent to the Organizing Committee. After a rigorous qualifying round, 33 works of art entered the Finals of the DNU Film Festival - The New Wave Season 2. These are all films with clear scripts, attractive content, meaningful messages, meticulous post-production, and impressive acting.

Dressed in gorgeous outfits, the DNU “stars” confidently strode down the red carpet, “immersed” in an impressive art space with a magnificent movie poster; checked in “hot” with a team of professional photographers and cameramen; and participated in a grand film screening and award ceremony.

As glamorous as an international film festival

The grandeur of the program made the 2 special guests/judges - actors Dinh Tu (Gap em ngay nang, Thuong ngay nang ve, Lang yen duoc ach sat...) and Ngoc Huyen (Mat mam guong, Gara hanh phuc, Chung ta cua 8 nam sau...) also amazed and admired.

Actor Dinh Tu shared: “I was really surprised by the talent and enthusiasm of the students of Dai Nam University. From the script, camera angles, acting... everything was meticulous, emotional and carried many meaningful messages.”

As for actress Ngoc Huyen: “Through each film, I feel your enthusiasm, passion and strong creative spirit. These are things that I myself need to learn a lot.”

My School film project “Everyone deserves a chance to change - Dai Nam is ready to give opportunities…” won the Golden Wave award

After a serious and dedicated working process, the Jury has selected quality works with artistic value for 05 award categories and the title of Best Actor/Actress/Supporting Actor.

In the end, the film “My School” by students of TTĐPT 16.01 won the Golden Wave Award 2024. The film brought a new perspective of students about Dai Nam University with the message: “Everyone deserves a chance to change and Dai Nam University is ready to give that opportunity to all young people with aspirations and passion”.

The Silver Wave was awarded to the film Living from the QHCC 16.01 class film crew.

The Silver Wave Award winner is the film Country and Me from the film crew of class TA 16.02.

The film Lost Love of Pharmacy students on April 16 won the award for Most Favorite Film.

The Promising Film Award was given to the student group CKO 16.01 with the film Brotherhood.

The best screenplay was awarded to the film "Mom" by the DNU SVTN Team.

Best post-production belongs to the film Going Home by class QTDL 16.02.

Best Actress goes to Le Dau Phuong Thao – class QHCC 16.01, movie Song.

Best Actor was awarded to Le Van Thao Nguyen - class TA 16.02, for the movie Country and You.

Best Supporting Actor goes to Nguyen Van Long – class QTDL 16.02, movie Roy G.BIV.

The head of the film crew My Mother received the award for best supporting actress - Nguyen Hai Anh - SVTN DNU Team.

Representatives of the TOP 10 best films were honored and received certificates at the Gala night.

Representatives of 33 film crews received competition certificates.

The “DNU Film Festival” Award Gala was a great success, leaving many deep impressions on the hearts of guests, teachers and students. In the coming time, Dai Nam University will continue to organize attractive competitions on a grand scale for students to affirm their personality and talent.
