“Since I was growing up, I never said I love you, Dad. I always felt a distance when talking to you. But now it's different. I don't feel the distance anymore. I love you, Dad! Take care of your health...”

That is the message sent to Cam Nhung's father - a K17 student of the Pharmacy Department of Dai Nam University after finishing the Basic Soft Skills course. Although she loves her parents very much, Cam Nhung is very shy about expressing her feelings, even simple words of thanks or apology are difficult to say... The conversations with her parents gradually become shorter and less frequent due to the generation gap. However, after the Soft Skills Camp 1 program, the first thing Cam Nhung and the first-year students of Dai Nam University did together was to text and call their parents to say "I love you, Mom and Dad", thank you, Mom and Dad... Some of them hurriedly took the bus home, cherishing and appreciating every moment they had with their families.

Right from the first days of the school's establishment, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors has specifically directed: In addition to teaching professional knowledge and working skills, it is necessary to teach students soft skills, helping them cultivate ethics, lifestyle, and manners from the simplest things in daily life... Implementing that policy, students of Dai Nam University are trained in soft skills systematically right from the moment they enter the school and throughout the entire course.

Dai Nam University pays special attention to soft skills training for students.

The Soft Skills Training Camp is a unique end-of-semester test format for Dai Nam University students studying Basic and Advanced Soft Skills. Instead of assessing students’ learning outcomes through conventional examinations, the Soft Skills Training and Development Department organizes a training camp in the form of a military camp combined with a summer camp, creating opportunities for students to participate in a series of experiential activities throughout the day.

With this form of testing, students can apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to practical activities and learn many new skills and knowledge.

Students participate in team building activities at the Soft Skills training camp.

Specifically, coming to Soft Skills Training Camp 1, students will participate in team challenges that require a combination of physical and mental health and situation handling skills, carefully researched and designed by teachers of the Soft Skills Training and Development Department.

Exciting experiential activities with attractive names such as: Stairway to Heaven, Magical Puzzle, Solidarity Steps, Relay Race, Team Power… help the “new recruits” break all limits, unleash all their youthful energy, agility and creativity to “study hard, play hard”.

In particular, the emotional experience at the end of the day is when you sit together by the flickering candlelight to look deep into your mind, learn to love and cherish yourself, the world around you and the loved ones around you.

The series of experiences at the Soft Skills camp left students with sublime emotions and unforgettable memories.

Eliminate distance, confidently express love to parents

Right after the Soft Skills Training Camp 1 ended, Cam Nhung - a K17 student of the Faculty of Pharmacy texted the teachers of the Faculty of Soft Skills Training and Development: "Thank you teachers and the school for the very good and meaningful lecture about parents. I was born in 1999, 6 years older than the first year students, but this year I registered to study at Dai Nam Faculty of Pharmacy with the 2K5 students. Even though I am so old, I have never said I love my father. After that lecture, I had to text my father immediately, thank you very much for having such a good and meaningful subject" .

Cam Nhung also shared a text message from her friend to her father: “Today I won first prize in the Soft Skills exam, at the end of the session the teacher gave a lecture about parents. Then I cried because it was so true. Since I started growing up, I have never said I love you, Dad, I always felt a distance when talking to you. But now it's different, I don't feel the distance anymore. I love you, Dad, take care of your health because I think you're going bald these days."

Experience the emotions at the Soft Skills training camp.

Know how to appreciate and cherish every moment when you are with your family.

Talking about the emotional experience at the Soft Skills camp, Huong Tra - a K17 student of the Korean Language and Culture Department shared: "Through the emotional experience, I have a different perspective on my family. With the lesson of gratitude to my parents, I gradually understand more about the sacrifices my parents have made for me. Right after the Soft Skills camp, the next day, I took the bus back to my hometown, cherishing and cherishing every moment when I was with my family" .

“I am a boy, I rarely cry, but I can't stop myself from shedding tears when participating in emotional experiences.”

Ha Tung - a student of K17, Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology, said: "I am a boy, I rarely cry, but I could not stop myself from shedding tears when participating in the emotional experience. I understand that I need to cherish every moment when I am with my family. Stay with, talk to, and share as much as possible with my parents because later when I am busy with work, I don't know how long it will be before I can have a meal with my parents... and my parents can leave us at any time" .

Step out of your comfort zone, be more confident, more mature

Also from the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology, Thế Anh shared: “Before joining the Soft Skills camp, I was quite nervous and a little scared because it was the first time I heard about and participated in such a new form of competition. But after participating in the experience at the camp, my fear disappeared and was replaced by emotions ranging from joy, happiness to excitement.”

Students are more confident after activities at the Soft Skills camp.

Like other students, Duy Khuong - a student of the Tourism Department, overcame his shyness after the experience at the Soft Skills camp: "When I took the exam, I had the experience of being as strict as a military camp, as happy as a summer camp, and met some familiar and unfamiliar teammates. Although at first everyone was a bit shy and did not coordinate well, when we took the exam together, we understood more about each other and cooperated better."

“The most valuable thing in student life is the experiences through which you will gradually mature,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy affirmed.

Sharing about the value of experiential activities at the Soft Skills training camp, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of the Soft Skills Training and Development Department, Dai Nam University said: "The most valuable thing in a student's life is the experiences, through which you will gradually mature. Skills are not only learned in books or in the classroom, but also cultivated through all experiential activities. Your greatest victory in the experiences at the Soft Skills training camp is to conquer yourself, learn how to change yourself to adapt to any situation, any group" .

Through the Basic Soft Skills camp, new students of Dai Nam University have gained confidence, courage and high adaptability to step into a new environment, which is a solid foundation for their development not only in studying at school but also in all areas of life.
