The market economy is increasingly changing with the expansion of occupations and opportunities to work in an international environment. In particular, English is one of the occupations that attracts the most candidates to register for the university entrance exam every year.

Thirst for human resources in English language industry

Vietnam's accession to the TPP is an important milestone for a new development foundation in the economy. Currently, foreign enterprises are increasing their investment in Vietnam with wide-open career opportunities. In that reality, human resources who know foreign languages are a great advantage to enter this potential working environment. However, the current workforce does not have enough foreign language skills to meet the requirements of communication work. The education system in schools has not really focused on training English proficiency to meet the requirements of the job. English subjects are mainly focused on grammar, while other skills such as reading, interpreting, translating and communicating are extremely poor, students after graduation are not guaranteed to meet the requirements of the job.

This is an alarming reality of the education situation, supply cannot meet demand. Many employers in foreign enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises or simply domestic enterprises are complaining about students not being able to do the most basic work, lacking both professional knowledge and skills and not having enough foreign language proficiency to meet the job requirements. The problem is how to solve the problem of poor English human resources? That is an attractive job opportunity for graduates with high English proficiency and professional skills.

What can you do with an English Language degree?

When studying the new and attractive English Language major, many students are always worried about the job they can do after graduation because the key they hold in their hands is only foreign language. However, the reality shows that there are many job opportunities for English students, they can take on the following positions:
- Become a specialist working in the fields of finance, tourism, hotels, diplomacy, import and export;
- Translation and interpretation specialist working at publishing house, international reporter;
- Secretary, foreign affairs assistant in companies, enterprises, economic groups, foreign ministries, consulates;
- Teaching English at universities, colleges, academies, foreign language centers...

Currently, some facilities and schools are training English language with prestige. Candidates can consider choosing to register for admission based on the study program, suitable environment and sufficient capacity to meet.

In 2018, Dai Nam University enrolls 50 students in English Language (major code: 7220201) according to 2 admission methods:

- Admission method 1: Admission of high school graduates based on the results of the national high school exam at examination clusters hosted by universities;

- Admission method 2: Admission of high school graduates based on high school academic results with the following conditions: the total score of three subjects according to the exam block of grade 12 for university candidates is 18 points or higher, and grade 12 conduct is classified as Good or higher.
