Cases not following the KVTS include: students registering for specialized classes at specialized high schools and 6 high schools with specialized classes; students registering for admission to self-financed public high schools and non-public high schools; students registering for 1 choice to non-specialized grade 10 at Chu Van An High School or Son Tay High School, the remaining choice must be registered according to the prescribed KVTS.

Students who register to study German (second foreign language, 7-year system) at Viet Duc High School, the remaining wishes must register according to the regulations of the KVTS. Students who register to study French and Japanese at schools that teach French and Japanese; students who register to study the pilot program for dual baccalaureate training at schools that offer this program.
Changing the training area includes students who live in areas bordering training areas, or whose actual residence is different from the place of permanent residence registration,... the instructions clearly state that students are allowed to change training areas with the following conditions: 2 wishes to enter 2 public high schools must be in the same training area, have an application to change training area (according to the form), the application clearly states the reason for the change and is confirmed by the head of the educational institution.
Each student has 2 wishes.
When registering for admission to grade 10 of a public high school, each student can register for admission to 2 public high schools, ranked in order of priority as choice 1 and choice 2. These two choices must be in the same recruitment area, except for 2 cases: 1 of the 2 choices is to apply to grade 10 of Chu Van An High School or Son Tay High School; 1 of the 2 choices is to apply to grade 10 to study French, Japanese, German at high schools that teach French, Japanese, German.
Students who want to enroll in the school of their second choice must have an admission score that is at least 1.5 points higher than the school's admission score. Students who have passed the first choice will not be considered for the second choice. When the admission score is lowered, the school will only accept students who register for the first choice, not students who register for the second choice.

For grade 10 of self-financed public high schools and grade 10 of non-public high schools, if students want to use their exam results to apply to self-financed public high schools, or non-public high schools that recruit students using the combination of exam results and admission, students must take the entrance exam for grade 10 of high school on June 7 to have a new admission score to be considered for admission to the school.
If only considering admission to a self-financed high school or a non-public high school (not considering admission to a public high school), in the "application form for admission to grade 10 of high school for the 2018-2019 school year", students register as follows: in the first wish section, write the name of a public high school to take the exam; in the second wish section, write "NCL" in capital letters.
