According to the Examination and Quality Control Department, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, for the 2018 National High School Exam, the entire city will organize an examination council. The unit noted that schools should plan appropriate review sessions for each group of students. Students should pay attention to the examination regulations and stay healthy to prepare for the exam.

This year, Hanoi has 123 exam sites.

It is expected that the whole city will have 79,000 candidates registered for the exam, including 67,500 high school students, 6,000 continuing education students and about 5,500 high school graduates taking the exam to get the results for university admission. It is expected that there will be 123 exam sites with 3,300 exam rooms.

Hanoi will mobilize 50% of staff and lecturers from universities and 50% of staff and teachers from high schools to participate in exam invigilation and exam room supervision.

The regulations on national high school exams and university and college admissions are basically unchanged compared to the regulations issued and implemented in 2017. The organization of the 2018 National High School Exam continues to be positive, concise, practical, objective, fair and for the benefit of candidates.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted a number of new points such as: independent candidates no longer have to submit birth certificates; exam scores are rounded to two decimal places. Specifically, according to the new regulations, exams are graded on a 10-point scale, and the odd points of the total score are rounded to two decimal places. This will increase the objectivity and accuracy of candidates' exam results.

In particular, candidates should note the regional priority system, adding a maximum of 0.75 points. The difference in admission scores between the next two groups of candidates is 1.0 point, between the next two regions is 0.25 points corresponding to the total score of 3 exams/subjects (in the admission subject group) without multiplying the coefficient on a 10-point scale.

Candidates in region 1, who are awarded the highest regional priority points, will only receive a maximum of 0.75 regional priority points.
Add direct recruitment objects

In addition, another new point is that the admission work has added a direct admission subject. Specifically, those who win prizes in Fine Arts competitions organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be considered for direct admission or given priority for admission to universities, colleges and vocational schools in the corresponding training fields. Those who win first, second or third prizes in ASEAN regional vocational competitions and international vocational competitions, if they have a high school diploma or intermediate diploma, have studied and passed the required amount of high school cultural knowledge, will be directly admitted to schools to study the field or profession suitable to the profession in which they won the prize.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training reminds high schools and continuing education centers to develop review plans suitable for each group of students, and to seriously evaluate and classify students. At the same time, schools should widely disseminate the regulations for the National High School Exam, the admission regulations as well as the guidance documents of the ministry and department so that 12th grade students can fully understand them.

For 12th grade students, the department recommends taking care of their health, planning to study seriously and reasonably, and being assured of a stable examination and admission method that is serious, fair, objective, and for the benefit of candidates.
