Professor Truong Dinh Kiet, former Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said: “To become a university of technology, it is necessary to establish institutes, centers, and research laboratories. This is a big challenge in terms of funding. Currently, a training investment in our country is 10 million VND/student, while in Thailand it is 210 million VND. In the immediate future, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy only needs to focus on 1-2 research departments. By 2040, the school can take one step into a research university.”
