July 28, announcement of minimum scores for university admission in 2016

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Nghia - Deputy Director of the Department of Testing and Educational Quality Assessment, Ministry of Education and Training said that it is expected that on July 28, the threshold to ensure university entrance quality (floor score) will be announced.

After the Ministry of Education and Training announces the minimum score, universities will develop admission plans. Then, the universities must set a threshold score for submitting application documents (standard score) to facilitate candidates. In 2015, the minimum score for university is 15 points and for college is 12 points.

On August 1, candidates begin registering for the first round of admission.

Important milestones in the 2016 University and College admissions that candidates need to note:

* Issue temporary high school graduation certificates, return transcripts and other documents no later than July 27.

* Certificate of exam results, receive appeal applications no later than July 30.

* From August 1-12: Candidates begin submitting applications for the first round of admission to a maximum of 2 schools, each school with no more than 2 majors. Applications cannot be changed.

* First round of admission

- The school will announce the admission results before August 14, 2016;

- Candidates must submit their Certificate of Exam Results by August 19, 2016 (based on the postmark if submitted by express mail).

* Additional admission rounds

- 1st round of additional admission: The school will announce the admission results before September 4, 2016; Candidates will submit their exam result certificates by September 9, 2016 (based on the postmark if submitted by express mail).

- 2nd round of additional admission: The school will announce the admission results before September 23, 2016; Candidates must submit their exam result certificates by September 28, 2016 (based on the postmark if submitted by express mail).

* University admission ends on October 20 and for College it is November 15.
