Many candidates whose transcripts had their last name "Vo" changed to "Doan", their year of birth incorrect, or their red stamp missing... were not allowed to submit their applications because universities refused to accept them.

Many candidates whose transcripts had their last name "Vo" changed to "Doan", their year of birth incorrect, or their red stamp missing... were not allowed to submit their applications because universities refused to accept them.

On August 4, Nguyen Van Thanh (registration number HUI014047) went to Ho Chi Minh City University of Law to submit his application for admission to the Civil Law major. However, the school refused to accept his application because Thanh's name lacked a grave accent on his report card.

"I applied for a combination of 3 subjects: Literature (6 points), History (7.75 points), Geography (9 points). I will definitely be admitted because the standard score for Civil Law last year was only 21. But now, my application is not accepted, so I am very worried," Thanh said.

This candidate added that when taking the national high school exam at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry cluster, the exam notice also lacked the grave accent. Thanh asked the cluster to adjust it, but he doesn't understand why it's still the same.

Driving from Cu Chi to the Open University to submit his application, Doan Van Liem was also rejected by the school because of the wrong last name on his transcript. Liem's last name is Doan, but his transcript says Doan.

"My total score for the three exams was 17.25 but I couldn't submit my application. I submitted my household registration book, ID card, and transcript and asked for a commitment letter, but the school still refused," Liem said.

Candidate Le Thi Huynh Thi (registration number QSG 017874) went to Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to submit her application. After reviewing the report card, the school returned it to Thi because the word Thi was missing. Similarly, Vo Thi Bich Phuong (registration number HUI 012354) was also unable to submit her application to Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy because the report card printed Vo as "Vo".

Bui Ngoc Tran, who took the exam at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, received 4 transcripts, but only 2 of them were stamped by the school. "I brought my transcripts for admission but they were not accepted because they lacked the red stamp. Now I don't know what to do," Tran said.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Thao, born on July 12, 1995, but the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education exam cluster printed her scorecard as being born in 1993. This candidate traveled from District 9 to Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture for admission but was also rejected.

Previously, on the first day of admission, many candidates who applied to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and Saigon University also had their applications returned because the information on their transcripts did not match their temporary graduation certificates.

Speaking to VnExpress , the leader of Ho Chi Minh City Open University said that the school did not dare to accept the incorrect scorecard because there was no basis. "We cannot access the Ministry's exam score data, so we do not know whether the incorrect scorecard belongs to the candidate or not. The school has asked for the opinion of the Ministry of Education but there are no instructions yet, so we do not dare to accept it. Who would dare to make it difficult for the candidate?", he said.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, admissions specialist of the Ministry of Education and Training Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that after 3 days of admission, dozens of candidates came to complain about incorrect score sheets, so schools did not accept their applications. Many schools did not accept candidates' applications such as: Banking University, Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture...

Responding to this issue, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga said that schools must not make it difficult for candidates. During the process of receiving application documents, if errors are found in the name, date of birth on the score sheet, they will be compared with the Ministry's general data according to the registration number and then the application will be accepted.

"The editing will be carried out later, the Ministry will have a document directing this," said Mr. Ga.
