Public Relations is a social science and an art of managing public relations to create and maintain a positive image of an organization or business to the public. A PR specialist is a person who communicates the ideas, policies, plans and implementation of the organization's or business's leaders to the public; and reflects the public's attitude towards that organization or business. A PR specialist contributes to maintaining and managing harmony in the organization's or business's working environment in front of the public, in order to build brand sustainability.
Public Relations and Communications is a field of study with great potential.
The Public Relations - Communication major of Dai Nam University has been established and developed since 2011 until now. This is an extremely attractive major, attracting a lot of attention from employers. However, to train graduates who can effectively apply knowledge in their work, there must be a plan and specific goals set. The Public Relations training program is designed based on the training model of experienced and prestigious universities in the country and abroad.
Currently, Dai Nam University is training a full-time university majoring in Public Relations and Communications, which continues to attract a large number of candidates to register for admission every year due to the school's reputation, quality training program, and attractive job opportunities.
- About knowledge: The Public Relations major provides students with a basic knowledge system about Public Relations, knowledge about communication, theoretical basis of journalism and communication, means of communication and how to use these means in Public Relations activities.
- Regarding skills: Equip students with skills to build, maintain and develop relationships between organizations and public groups; skills to organize events, create communication plans, manage crises; skills to write, edit and publish news, articles, press releases, media products... through the following means: printing, radio, television, electronic networks, multimedia; skills to manage and advise on building public relations strategies; skills to evaluate the effectiveness of communication/public relations activities...
- Students often have the opportunity to go on field trips: Exchange and learn from organizations and businesses operating in the field of communication. In addition, the faculty always creates conditions for students to participate in reality TV shows.
- Students are directly involved in organizing events: Directly implementing from script ideas, content ideas and event organization.
- The Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, in addition to young lecturers with high professional qualifications, also has a team of guest lecturers who are Associate Professors, PhDs, Masters, with a lot of experience in the field of training, currently teaching at major training institutions such as: Academy of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi...
After 4 years of regular university study with a bachelor's degree, graduates of public relations at Dai Nam University have the capacity to practice public relations in enterprises, ministries, sectors, businesses, non-governmental organizations, press and media agencies with the following positions:
- PR, advertising, marketing specialist at enterprises, units, organizations inside and outside the state organization system.
- Professional spokesperson, MC, event organizer for organizations and businesses.
- Communication staff (management, editing, development of communication and propaganda programs...) in agencies, business organizations or political and social units and organizations.
- Reporters at press agencies, news agencies, radio stations, television stations.
2 methods of admission to Public Relations:
- Method 1: Use the results of 03 subjects from the high school graduation exam results according to the registered combination for admission consideration.
- Method 2: Use the results of 03 subjects from the 12th grade high school study results according to the registered combination for admission with a score of 18 points or higher.
