In Hanoi, through the initial synthesis of registration records of candidates for the 2015 National High School Exam, it is shown that candidates are rushing to register for the Physics and Chemistry exams to match the subject combinations of universities in groups A and A1.

According to school statistics, at Viet Duc High School, the most students chose Physics, followed by Chemistry. Specifically: 440 students registered for Physics, 235 students registered for Chemistry, 203 students chose Geography, and only 27 students registered for History .

Associate Professor, Dr. Van Nhu Cuong, Luong The Vinh High School, Hanoi, said: Physics is the most chosen subject by students, accounting for 70%, followed by Chemistry and Geography . Only 1 student registered for History .

Similarly, at Dinh Tien Hoang High School, according to teacher Tung Lam, Physics is also the most chosen subject by candidates, accounting for 60%, followed by Geography at 20%, and History is only registered by a few students.

In contrast to Hanoi, in Dien Bien province, according to initial statistics from the Dien Bien Department of Education and Training, social subjects are chosen by more students than natural subjects. Specifically: up to 3,962 candidates registered for the Geography exam (over 63%); 3,262 candidates chose to take the History exam (over 52%). Meanwhile, the number of registrations for Physics was less than 20% with 1,076 candidates; Chemistry was less than 30% with 1,813 candidates and Biology was 1,632 candidates registered (about 26%).

In Cao Bang, students registered for the Geography exam accounted for nearly 73%; the number of candidates registering for the History exam was the second highest with over 52% (3,160 candidates). Meanwhile, Physics had only 1,151 candidates registered (about 19%); Chemistry : 1,532 candidates registered (about over 25%); Biology: 2,093 candidates registered (over 34%). The lowest was Foreign Language , with only 495 candidates registered.

It is known that in 2015, Cao Bang province had a total of 5,998 candidates taking the national high school exam; of which 2,939 candidates took the exam only for graduation, 1,954 candidates took the exam for 2 purposes and 1,105 candidates took the exam only for university and college admission.

Commenting on the situation where few students choose History to take the exam, Historian Duong Trung Quoc said: “After the 2015 national high school exam , the teaching and learning of History needs to change fundamentally towards a more approachable and experiential approach. In addition, in order for young people and especially students to love History, the whole society also needs to have an objective view and full awareness of this subject; History should not be considered just a secondary subject, a supplementary subject for other social knowledge, and an optional exam subject. Because in reality, History has a great impact on people's lives and moral qualities.
