Report on research results at the workshop "Research results on policy and legal framework for POHE"

On the morning of June 2, 2016, at the Conference room of the Hanoi City Trade Union Hotel, the workshop "Results of research on policy and legal framework for POHE" organized by the POHE2 Project Management Board attracted more than 60 delegates from 15 universities and research institutes nationwide.
After 9 months of urgent work, overcoming reporting sessions and strict topic censorship, the research team of Dai Nam University has completed the research topic " Evaluation of factors affecting the results of POHE model implementation " and was honored to be one of four typical topics selected to report at the workshop " Research results of policy and legal proposal framework for POHE " organized by POHE2 Project Management Board on June 2, 2016.
On the morning of June 2, 2016, at the Conference room of the Hanoi Trade Union Hotel, the workshop " Results of the research on the policy and legal framework for POHE " organized by the POHE2 Project Management Board attracted more than 60 delegates from 15 universities and research institutes nationwide, including Hanoi National University, National Economics University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Banking Academy, Academy of Education Management, Academy of Agriculture, Thai Nguyen University, Hung Yen University of Technical Education, Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, Center for Research on Higher and Vocational Education, Institute of Educational Research, Dai Nam University, Hue University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and delegates from the Ministry of Education and Training.
From 11 accepted research topics under the POHE2 project, the Organizing Committee selected 4 typical topics to present at the conference. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Trong Phuc represented the research team of Dai Nam University to summarize the research results and recommendations to develop a method of applied career-oriented university education at universities in Vietnam.

As the only topic applying in-depth quantitative research methods in non-public higher education institutions, the group's report has received a lot of attention, sharing and opinions from other schools and educational administrators. In the report, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Trong Phuc pointed out the most important factors that are currently hindering the application of applied career-oriented education methods in universities, especially non-public schools. Therefore, schools must define very specific policies in training and fostering teachers according to POHE orientation, build relationships with the public sector throughout the entire training process, ensure conditions for facilities and equipment for training, etc.
Dai Nam University research team exchanges ideas with other schools
Within the framework of 50 career-oriented training programs, the POHE project has contributed to meeting the market's demand for high-quality labor with 4,833 POHE graduates. After 10 years of implementation, the number of students registering has increased significantly, as of October 2015, the number of students studying has reached 10,136 students, structured according to 4 majors: Agriculture and Forestry, Engineering and Technology, Economics and Management, Education..... The workshop on June 2, 2016 is one of many activities to continue promoting and implementing the POHE model in Vietnam. At the end of the workshop, the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and the POHE2 Project Management Board expressed their sincere thanks for the valuable contributions of the research groups and schools that participated in the project's activities. With the results obtained from the research, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Management Board have more solid foundations to develop appropriate policies to help Vietnamese higher education develop more and more, meeting social needs well.
