School psychological counseling: Not attractive to students.

Many schools have arranged a team of staff to do psychological counseling. Every year, this team of staff is trained and improved to meet the practical situation. However, most of the staff doing psychological counseling are currently part-time staff and teachers. This team has not been trained in a systematic and in-depth manner in psychological counseling, so they face difficulties in the counseling process.
This workshop also affirmed that school psychological counseling in recent times has had initial changes and achieved certain results, partly meeting the needs of students, enhancing their resistance to negative impacts of society; at the same time contributing to orienting and supporting students to overcome difficulties in studying, training as well as in life.
However, the negative impacts of the market economy, the negative influence of cultural products, toxic information in society and on the internet, have significantly affected the thinking, spiritual life, and psychology of young people, especially students today.
Improve the effectiveness of psychological counseling activities
Through analyzing and synthesizing the opinions of delegates at the Workshop, the Ministry of Education and Training also proposed specific solutions to overcome the above shortcomings. Accordingly, the Departments of Education and Training, Universities, Colleges and Vocational Training Colleges focus on providing consultation on the following contents: Psychological consultation, social relationship consultation, adolescent consultation, gender and reproductive health psychology consultation, family psychology consultation, career psychology consultation, consultation on modern social issues, and consultation on good learning methods.
Besides, it is necessary to Diversify forms of counseling to further enhance the effectiveness of psychological counseling activities. Focus on individual counseling to help children gain confidence and the ability to solve difficulties in life, create psychological balance, achieve good learning results, expand communication and improve personality.
Frequent Organize seminars between consultants and students. Promote the active role of excellent students in supporting psychological counseling work in schools. Regularly train and improve the capacity of collaborators to provide psychological counseling for students. At the same time, there are mechanisms and policies to support staff providing psychological counseling in schools.
In addition, with socialized resources, schools proactively build psychological counseling rooms with private, private spaces to create a comfortable and close atmosphere for students; Invest in facilities, equipment, apply the strengths of the internet and develop documents appropriate to the grade level in implementing psychological counseling work ; Departments of Education and Training proactively advise local Party committees and authorities to pay attention, support, and issue a number of regulations and policies to implement psychological counseling activities.
The Department of Student Affairs (Ministry of Education and Training) also said that this unit is consulting with the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training to issue a document directing and guiding the implementation of psychological counseling work in schools at the beginning of the new school year 2015-2016 .
Along with that, the Department also organized inspections, surveys and prepared conditions to organize a workshop on building a psychological counseling model in general education institutions, thereby replicating the model nationwide.
