“In life, only “learning” and “real learning” create value and determine a person’s identity. Going to university will help us gain knowledge, get a degree, get a job and solve problems…”. That is the sharing of education expert, Dr. Gian Tu Trung at the training session for cadres, lecturers and staff of the 2022-2023 school year of Dai Nam University.

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Council delivered the opening speech on training session 7: Learning and University in the new context.

Training to improve the capacity of cadres, lecturers and employees is an annual activity of Dai Nam University to build and develop a team of professional, skilled and enthusiastic staff to implement the development strategy of the University in the new period. This year, the training week took place from August 2 to 12 with 7 major topics, attracting the participation of 800 cadres, lecturers and employees throughout the university.

Dr. Gian Tu Trung shares about learning and university in the new context.

Universities contribute to shaping society

With the topic "Learning and University in the new context", Dr. Gian Tu Trung commented: "University cannot be a place to follow society but must contribute to shaping and establishing the future of the new society".

Accordingly, Dr. Gian Tu Trung defines education as supporting and developing people; university education will help learners have high cultural stature and professional qualifications. He believes that the most important thing in a university is to build the school's philosophy, to answer two questions: "Learning for what? Why must we learn?".

According to the speaker's perspective, we are currently facing a situation where education is measured by mindless numbers rather than paying attention to the roots. Meanwhile, the destination of progressive education is not fame or position but a free person.

To do that, education must encourage learners to have a thirst for knowledge. Educators must also cultivate themselves to establish their own values, contributing to the formation of new standards, values and beliefs to promote future generations. Only then will it be true and in line with the slogan "learning to change" of Dai Nam University.

“A university does not operate for the results of next month or next year, nor even for what kind of person its graduates will become. A university operates for the knowledge that will shape a person’s entire life, the knowledge that transmits the legacy of many millennia, the knowledge that determines the future,” Dr. Gian Tu Trung emphasized.

The topic of learning and university in the new context shared by Dr. Gian Tu Trung received special attention from the staff and lecturers of Dai Nam University.

"Practical learning" determines the value and status of each person.

According to experts, the five paths to self-enlightenment are: direct teachers, books, paying your own price (failure), ancient and modern figures, and knowledge from the internet. “Not everyone who goes through these five paths will be successful. But successful people must definitely go through these five paths,” he said.

Dr. Gian Tu Trung emphasizes "learning" and "real learning". According to him, only by learning truly can one do truly and only by doing truly can one live truly.

Dr. Gian Tu Trung especially emphasizes "learning" and "practical learning".

Accordingly, we must ask ourselves: What is the purpose of studying? What is the purpose of working? What is the purpose of living? If we do not study, we will only see one or two perspectives. But when we study, read, and interact, we will know hundreds of other perspectives on that issue. When we know many perspectives, our minds will be clearer, and we will decide that the issue will be different.

Experts affirm that only by self-study and self-liberation can one achieve success, live freely and truly be oneself. The speaker also believes that believing in fate or not is not important. What is important is to have faith in changing fate if you want. That will create the motivation to study to upgrade and transform yourself to maturity. At that time, studying is real studying, not studying to cope as we often see.

“In life, only “learning” and “real learning” create value and determine a person’s identity. Going to university will help us gain knowledge, get a degree, get a job and solve the above problems…” , expert Gian Tu Trung shared.

Teachers enthusiastically shared their views and asked questions to Dr. Gian Tu Trung.

The speaker further emphasized that the mission of liberal education is to help learners succeed in self-discovery. Only then can learners open their minds, open their minds, and unleash all their potential.

The School Board presented a commemorative medal to Dr. Gian Tu Trung.
