On July 10, at the 3-star Lotus Legend Hotel, 197 Tran Phu, Ha Dong, Hanoi, the "Inauguration and Opening Ceremony of the Faculty of Tourism's Practice Hotel - Lotus Legend Hotel" was held.
Located on a main street, the center between Royal city and European Overseas Vietnamese Village, Lotus Legend hotel meets 3-star standards with full functional areas qualified to serve study, internship, practice: Reception area, restaurant area serving European and Asian guests, 60 rooms with full modern amenities; practice and tour guide rooms; conference and seminar rooms...
Attending the ribbon cutting ceremony were Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the School, Board of Directors; Leaders of units, staff, lecturers of departments and faculties.
On the guest side, there were Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong - Director of Tourism Department, Mr. Vu Van Thanh - Director of Hotel Department, Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Deputy General Director of Sahul Hotel.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the School shared: "The training goal of the school is to combine theory with practice so that students not only master the expertise but also master practical skills. So there is nothing better than the school investing in its own facilities so that students and teachers can proactively teach and learn right in the school... He added : "Not only with the Faculty of Tourism but also with other faculties such as Pharmacy, Nursing... we also have standard practice areas and laboratories to ensure the best for students to study and experiment, so that when they graduate they can always work to meet the needs of businesses"...

Also at the program, Mr. Vu Van Thanh - Director of the Hotel Department shared the orientation of the leaders of the Tourism industry so that the Faculty of Tourism always follows the right path and closely follows the requirements so that each student after graduation can have a long-term and strong attachment to the profession. “Dai Nam University is the first university to have a practical hotel model for the Faculty of Tourism. This is a source of pride and something worth learning in the training work combining theory and practice, connecting students and businesses, students can confidently work well right after graduation. Hopefully in the coming years, higher education institutions will also learn to apply this useful practical training model for students”.

To express gratitude to the school leaders, student Nguyen Thi Hang - 3rd year student of the Faculty of Tourism sent her deep thanks to the school's Board of Directors, the Faculty's dedicated teaching and guidance in her studies.
“If we only learn theory without being “shown hands on”, it will be difficult for us to master the skills. There are many situations that we have to go directly to work with customers in order to understand and do. Having a practice facility like this, being able to study at home and still being taught and guided by our teachers makes us feel very proud and confident, we have matured a lot in our behavioral skills, flexibly solving problems at work as well as in life. This is an extremely precious gift that the school and the faculty have given us”…

Talking about the issue of teaching theory combined with practice at the hotel, Mr. Tran Sy Nguyen - Head of Tourism Department, Executive Director of Lotus Legend Practical Hotel shared:
"Whatever skills, standards, and operations students learn in class, they will practice and intern according to those standards at the Faculty's hotel. We will train them over and over again and they will be accompanied by lecturers"...
