With the theme of connecting two countries and two cultures, on October 27, Dai Nam University in collaboration with the Japanese Language Education Association for Non-Chinese Language Countries (JLAN) organized the "9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival". The event not only helps Vietnamese students learn about Japanese culture, cuisine, and people, but is also an opportunity for young people to seek opportunities to study abroad and work in the land of cherry blossoms.

The 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival is one of the longest-running Japanese cultural festivals in Hanoi. The event was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the JLAN Association, representatives of Dai Nam University, Japanese guests and nearly 2,000 guests who are officials, lecturers, students from universities, colleges and high schools across the country.
The 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival was organized elaborately and grandly with many unique Japanese cultural experience activities .

In particular, the 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival also has the participation of leading Vietnamese singers and actors, such as: Soobin Hoang Son, Dinh Manh Ninh, Anh Vu...

This year, the 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival was organized elaborately and grandly with many unique Japanese cultural experience activities such as: ikebana flower arrangement, calligraphy, origami, cosplay, wearing kimono, Japanese cuisine...
“What we want to convey through this Festival is to help young Vietnamese people understand more about Japanese culture and love learning Japanese. Young people will be the bridge to help strengthen the friendship between the two countries…” said Mr. Hashino Nobuo - Chairman of JLAN Association , Executive Director of GAG Japanese Language Academy .


Ms. Cao Thi Hoa and Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh, representing the Organizing Committee, presented a souvenir to singer Dinh Manh Ninh at the event.

It is known that over the past 5 years, the JLAN Education Association has cooperated with Dai Nam University to organize many cooperative activities such as: organizing Japanese language tests for students; Japanese speech contest for JLAN test Cup; cultural and academic exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan; signing memorandums of understanding on training; implementing the establishment of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - majoring in Japanese studies at Dai Nam University...

“The JLAN Education Association wishes to bring a Japanese university-standard education to Vietnamese students. We will send lecturers from leading Japanese universities to teach, and at the same time guarantee 100% employment for students after graduation,” Mr. Hashino Nobuo added.


Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University shared: " The 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival not only hopes to bring the Japanese language to Dai Nam students but also wants students across the country to absorb Japanese culture. Le Duc Thang – a student of the Faculty of Tourism at Dai Nam University shared: “Japanese culture, cuisine, and people are all wonderful. And what I enjoyed most about experiencing the Festival was understanding more about the Japanese people. They are not only friendly and sincere, but also very resilient, persistent, and united. These are valuable qualities that young people like us should learn from…”

Miss & Mister Sakura 2019 contest brings together 19 couples from universities, colleges and high schools across the country.
The highlight of the 9th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival is the Miss & Mister Sakura 2019 contest with the first prize being a trip to experience Japanese culture worth 100 million VND. Not only performing in traditional costumes of the two countries, the young people also showed their understanding, confidence and dynamism through the behavioral round.

The contestants were gorgeous in the evening gown competition.
With impressive, convincing and touching answers about the differences of Vietnamese women, the couple Nguyen Van Hieu - Nguyen Minh Phuong from Dai Nam University excellently won the highest award of the Miss & Mister Sakura 2019 contest.

At the contest, the traditional Vietnamese ao dai once again captivated the Japanese guests with the gentle and graceful beauty of Vietnamese women. The festival was also an opportunity for young people to show off their cultural beauty, thereby increasing their love and pride for Vietnamese cultural identity.
