What qualities do you need to pursue a career in Tourism and Travel Management?
1. Have a wide range of knowledge
The tourism industry requires you to be a person with a deep understanding of all areas from life, economics, politics, culture, ... and constantly update the amount of knowledge that changes every day, new every hour. You cannot be a person with limited knowledge to represent the whole country of Vietnam to exchange internationally, introducing to other countries the beauty of the people and country of Vietnam. Studying this industry, you must be a multi-talented person, able to work in many fields.
2. Good communication, friendly, enthusiastic and responsive
The nature of the tourism industry is communication and exposure to cultures. Therefore, studying Tourism and Travel Management means that you must be enthusiastic and practice your communication skills continuously through practical activities, programs, and group events organized by the school or by individuals who contact and participate. If you are a closed person who is afraid of communication, then you are definitely not suitable for this profession and must practice and change to suit the requirements of the industry.
3. Organize, manage, and arrange work
In the qualities of a person working in tourism, it is necessary to have the ability to organize and arrange work to be able to work well in the industry, because this is a busy industry and is subject to a lot of pressure. If you do not manage your work properly, you can easily get stressed and discouraged, giving up your passion.
4. Confident, dynamic, love to explore
These are the most important qualities to succeed when studying Tourism and Travel Management. With specific jobs such as customer service, tour guide, tourism business, etc., if students do not have confidence and initiative, they will not be able to integrate into the learning environment and perform well in their job position.
5. Proficiency in foreign languages
Foreign language is a mandatory factor to be able to work in the tourism industry. The nature of this job is to interact with many people, many classes. In addition to the required extensive knowledge, English is the key to be able to communicate and convey the cultural beauty of people and country to the world.
