Why did Dai Nam teachers and students perform Vietnamese traditional costumes in the program "Returning to the old Tet"?

Preserving and promoting the national cultural identity is a matter of survival for each nation, of existence or non-existence for each nation. The Vietnamese national cultural identity is a priceless asset, the soul of the nation, forged over thousands of years with many historical ups and downs written with the blood and tears of the entire Vietnamese nation. It is a symbol of longevity, a bridge between the past, present and future of the nation. Instead of propagating and reminding with words, on the occasion of the coming of Tet, teachers and students of Dai Nam University spread the beauty of the nation's traditional culture through the language of more than 50 sets of Vietnamese traditional costumes.
Accordingly, not only experiencing Vietnamese traditional costumes, teachers and students of Dai Nam University also learned about the historical significance of each type of traditional costume. Each type of costume is a "witness" of a different historical period, contributing to the creation of the traditional cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.

Thereby awakening national pride and self-esteem; arousing awareness and responsibility to preserve and spread traditional cultural values among young people, because: "Culture is the soul of the nation, as long as there is culture, the nation will exist..."

Not only do they get to wear beautiful traditional Vietnamese costumes, Dai Nam teachers and students also get to learn more about different types of costumes, such as: Nhat Binh Ao, Tac Ao, Ngu Than Ao, Giao Linh Ao...
The Nhat Binh (red) dress is the costume of the nobility, also the noble court dress of concubines and female officials in formal ceremonies. The Nhat Binh dress symbolizes power, nobility, luxury and prosperity.
The Nhat Binh shirt has a split neck, a double-breasted design, a large collar, and a strip of fabric below the chest that ties the two flaps of the shirt. Because when worn, the patterns on the chest form a rectangle, the shirt is called Nhat Binh.
Ao Tac - formal clothing of the Nguyen Dynasty used on important occasions such as: Weddings, holidays, festivals, funerals...
The Ao Tac is closed with five buttons symbolizing the Confucian view of the five constants and the five elements of Eastern philosophy.
The Ao Tac is buttoned with five buttons according to the concept of the five constant virtues: Humanity, Propriety, Righteousness, Wisdom, and Trust.
The Ao Ngu Than represents the wearer's modesty, discretion, dignified demeanor and refined aesthetic.
The sophistication of the five-panel shirt is also shown in the sewing technique, the pattern is matched to ensure each stitch is straight, small, even, and has hidden places so that the stitches are not visible.
The men's Ao Ngu Than brings a dignified, majestic, and brave look. Meanwhile, the women's Ao Ngu Than tends to be gentle and elegant.
The five-panel dress represents the five relationships (king and subject, father and son, husband and wife, brothers and friends). Wearing the five-panel dress means carrying on one's human ethics, not doing things that go against morality.
The Giao Linh Ao (left) was often used as a ceremonial dress on important occasions and became the official costume of Vietnamese women under the Ly Dynasty.

Dai Nam students transform into muse in traditional Vietnamese dress
Behind every dress is history. Behind the return of traditional costumes is love and respect for the quintessence of national culture.
Through this meaningful program, teachers and students of Dai Nam University want to convey the message: Students in particular and the young generation in general, although absorbing the quintessence of human culture, cannot reduce the cultural heritage of their nation. Because culture is not only the goal but also the driving force of social development. It is not only the tradition of morality, customs and pride but also the sacred and precious capital of each nation.
Let's join teachers and students of Dai Nam University to preserve, conserve and spread the traditional cultural values of the nation.
