03 "mighty warriors" of Dai Nam University will "storm" the "2023 National Chinese Speech Contest" in Da Nang

Surpassing nearly 100 opponents, 03 "mighty warriors" of the Chinese Language and Culture Department of Dai Nam University have officially emerged and are ready to enter the "2023 National Chinese Speech Contest" taking place in Da Nang this November. With a spirit of determination to fight and win, the 03 contestants affirm that they will bring the grand prize to Dai Nam University.

To create a dynamic learning environment, combining theory with practice, connecting and expanding the Chinese language community, searching for talents to participate in national and international competitions; in parallel with the training program, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture regularly organizes academic competitions. This is a useful and practical playground and always receives a large response from students.

Right from the opening round, the “DNU Chinese Speech Contest 2023” received nearly 100 registrations from students across the university. In this round, contestants uploaded videos introducing themselves in Chinese.

Confidence, creativity, and fluency in presentation helped 12 contestants advance to round 2 - a direct elimination round to find the "core" to participate nationwide. Here, the contestants participated in a speech with the topic "The role of Vietnam in the era of international integration" . Although only having 10 days to prepare, the 12 young people had an extremely confident presentation, solid arguments, standard pronunciation and fluent speaking; affirming the Chinese proficiency and logical thinking "not ordinary" of Dai Nam University students.

12 excellent candidates entered round 2 - direct elimination.

The candidates affirmed that: “As foreign language students, we are always aware of our role in changing ourselves, changing the country, in spreading and exchanging Vietnamese culture abroad, contributing our small part to the development of the fields of trade, education, integrating but not dissolving”.

In the end, the jury selected the 3 best candidates to become the "core" to participate in the final round of the "2023 National Chinese Speaking Competition" in November 2023 in Da Nang. They are Pham Thi Hoa - class TT14.07, Luc Minh Phong - class TT15.01, Tran Thi Nhan Duyen - class TT14.02.

Sharing after the competition, Pham Thi Nhu Hoa - Champion of the "DNU Chinese Speech Contest 2023" expressed: "I feel extremely honored and surprised to win the first prize of the school-level speech contest. This is a very meaningful thing and a source of motivation for me to confidently "conquer" the "National Chinese Speech Contest". I am grateful to the Faculty and the University for always creating all conditions for us to learn while practicing; connecting and spreading the love of foreign languages with students who share the same passion nationwide. I will definitely win the prize in this year's contest and bring the brand of Dai Nam University closer to everyone".

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Professional advisor of the Chinese Language and Culture Department awarded the First Prize to Pham Thi Hoa.

Luc Minh Phong - Runner-up of the contest shared: "I am happy and proud to be 1 of 3 contestants from Dai Nam University to compete nationwide. With the knowledge and skills equipped in the classroom and my own confidence; the support and encouragement of teachers and friends; the backing and support from the Faculty and the School, I am confident that I will "make it" in this year's contest."

Ms. Vo Thi Minh Ha - Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Culture awarded the second prize to Luc Minh Phong.

Contestant Tran Thi Nhan Duyen affirmed: “If the knockout round uses 100% of my capacity and energy, then I will try 10 times harder in the national competition. My goal is to win a prize and spread the love of foreign languages and Chinese to young people; creating motivation for them to confidently “conquer” school-level, provincial-level and national competitions in the coming time.”

Ms. Dang Quynh Dung - lecturer of Chinese Language and Culture Faculty awarded the Third Prize to Tran Thi Nhan Duyen.
