Xuan Mai Leprosy Hospital (Hanoi) has more than 70 elderly people. All of them have leprosy, most of them have no family, are shunned and rejected by society and live on state support.
“Leprosy” has transcended its literal meaning to become a noun expressing alienation and contempt in the Vietnamese language and community. Those who are unfortunate enough to suffer from the disease can only find sympathy and love from those in the same situation.
Due to the nature of the disease, leprosy patients are taken to a place for treatment and isolation. Perhaps, the day they return to the camp is the most terrifying milestone in their lives. They are officially isolated from their relatives, family and life outside, and are discriminated against and shunned by the world. When the gate of the leprosy camp closes, the beautiful life of these unfortunate people also closes. The world of the "lepers" at this time is only darkness and disease.

They crave the taste of Tet, the warmth of reunion.
Until now, fear and inferiority complex still prevent people who do not have the disease from passing through the leprosarium gate and the patients do not allow themselves to step out into the world. There are only hasty visits from relatives or occasional volunteers coming to give gifts and ask about the situation.
