At 11:00 p.m. on December 10, 2015, 80 servings of hot, nutritious porridge from the second season of the “Warm Porridge” program, cooked by the Dai Nam University Volunteer Student Team, were delivered to homeless people, night workers and patients at the Pediatrics Department, National Burn Institute, Hanoi.
“Warm Porridge” is one of the small programs in the program “Warm Winter of Love” season 2 of the Volunteer Student Team of Dai Nam University. “Warm Winter of Love” is a social activity with deep humanity and education for Dai Nam University students. Officially launched in the winter of 2014, “Warm Winter of Love” has now entered its second season and has always received enthusiastic support from teachers, teachers and students of the whole school as well as from society. The program “Warm Winter of Love” includes practical activities such as: “Warm Porridge”, “Warm Wool” and “Dai Nam Bookcase”. The program targets homeless people, night workers in the Hanoi area; ethnic minorities in mountainous areas, especially children…
Each bowl of fragrant meat porridge will be delivered to hospitals and the homeless.
The students' journey to distribute porridge started at 22:30.
The 80 porridge portions in the second issue of “Warm Porridge” season 2 were fully supported by the staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking (650,000 VND/portion of porridge). The volunteer student team would like to send our deepest thanks to the teachers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking. The teachers’ affection has helped the volunteer student team gain more spirit to successfully complete this meaningful program.
At 11pm, there were still many old people wandering the streets and a bowl of hot porridge helped them feel warmer in the cold winter.
Sidewalks and under bridges are the beds of the elderly.
The program “Warm Porridge” will be carried out by students every Thursday evening, lasting until the end of winter. “Give to receive”, let’s join Dai Nam students in sharing and helping the less fortunate; the attention and material and spiritual support from teachers, friends and kind-hearted people will be a great source of motivation and encouragement for the Student Volunteer Team to be able to bring more bowls of porridge, warm clothes, and scarves to lessen the cold in winter for the less fortunate.
