Announcing the 2018 National High School Exam Schedule

The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the 2018 national high school exam. Accordingly, the exam will take place over 3 days, from June 25-27.

Candidates will take 5 exams including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 2 combined exams: Natural Sciences (combination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (combination of History, Geography, Civic Education).

To be considered for high school graduation recognition, candidates studying the high school education program must take 4 exams including 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 exam of the candidate's choice from 2 combined exams.
Candidates studying the high school level GDTX program must take 3 exams, including 2 independent exams in Math and Literature and 1 exam chosen by the candidate from 2 combined exams.
Candidates can register to take both combined exams. The higher combined exam score will be selected to calculate the high school graduation recognition score.
The Ministry of Education and Training notes that candidates who have registered to take both combined exams are required to take both exams. If they skip one of the two exams, they will be considered as not taking enough exams and will not be considered for high school graduation recognition.
To be considered for admission to universities, colleges, and vocational schools, high school graduates must take independent exams, combined exams, or component subjects of a combined exam, in accordance with the combination of exams and subjects for admission to the major or group of majors according to the regulations of the university, college, or vocational school.
Exam format: Math, Foreign Language and combined exams are multiple choice, in which Math lasts 90 minutes and Foreign Language lasts 60 minutes.
The combined exams have a total time of 150 minutes, each component subject in the exam has a time of 50 minutes. The Literature exam is in essay form for 150 minutes.
