With the strategy of training IT engineers oriented towards the Japanese market, helping students have an overview of this potential labor market, recently, the Faculty of Computer Science of Dai Nam University organized a seminar on “Opportunities and IT Skills in the Japanese Market”. The program was attended by experts working at major technology companies in Japan.

Participating in the discussion, on behalf of Dai Nam University, there were: Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Lien - Vice Principal; Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal; Faculty leaders, lecturers, students, parents of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.

On the guest side, there were: Ms. Pham Thi Van Ngoc - Director of Seiko Ideas JSC; Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hanh - Director of 2NF Software Company; Mr. Pham Quang Trung - Manager of Technical Unit, Co-Well Asia Company; Mr. Pham Duc Manh - Head of Human Resources Assurance Department, FPT Japan Company.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong said: Practical training, real combat according to the "orders" of enterprises is the motto of Dai Nam University. Accordingly, the University always determines that education must have interaction between students and enterprises to improve knowledge and skills; enterprises also have feedback on students and the training process so that the University can promptly adjust the program and teaching methods.

“I hope that businesses will always accompany and support students during their vocational training; impart knowledge so that they can develop their skills and expertise, meeting the strict recruitment requirements of the Japanese labor market,” Ms. Thanh Huong shared.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong said: Practical training and real-life combat according to the "orders" of businesses is the motto of Dai Nam University.

Sharing at the program, Mr. Pham Duc Manh said: The economic growth rate and the aging population rate have made the Japanese labor market in recent years always "thirsty for human resources". In particular, high-quality IT and science and technology engineers are always "sought after" with huge income levels.

Mr. Duc Manh affirmed that the job opportunities in the Japanese market for science and technology and IT engineers are huge.

Adding to the skills required to work in a Japanese IT company, Mr. Pham Quang Trung said that candidates need to meet the requirements of hard skills (Japanese, technical skills) and soft skills (communication, teamwork, creativity, carefulness, compliance with procedures, etc.).

“Knowing Japanese is a prerequisite if you want to stick with the Japanese market. With a foreign language, your salary and bonuses will be many times higher,” Mr. Trung shared.

Mr. Pham Quang Trung shares about the skills and abilities needed when working in Japanese technology companies.

In response to the question “What are the plus points for students when applying to Japanese companies?” , Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hanh said: “The Japanese people are characterized by high responsibility. Therefore, they prioritize candidates who are hard-working, meticulous, responsible for their work, have a good attitude, and are eager to learn. In addition, candidates who have participated in projects are also highly appreciated by Japanese companies because that is a testament to their abilities.”

Expert Nhu Hanh advised young people to focus on studying and practicing right from the classroom.

Accordingly, all 3 speakers gave advice to young people: You need to cherish your time studying at school to improve your knowledge, practice your skills and attitudes. Study and take the Japanese language certificate exam; take advantage of opportunities to practice and intern at businesses, participate in many projects to accumulate experience, and build a solid foundation for yourself.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the Computer Science major (major code 7480101) of Dai Nam University will enroll 100 full-time university students according to 4 admission methods:
