Dai Nam University Awards a Wave of Scholarships to New Medical Freshmen: Fostering Future Talent
The Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University recently held its Summary Conference for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, welcoming and awarding scholarships to the newly admitted K18 cohort. This event was not only an occasion to greet new faces joining the Faculty, bringing the total number of medical students to nearly 500, but also a testament to the university’s high-quality training and modern learning environment, laying the foundation for future doctors.
Commitment to Building a Strong Foundation for Future Doctors
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong, Vice Rector of Dai Nam University, emphasized: “Medicine is a core discipline within Dai Nam University’s core Health training pillar. The university always focuses on enhancing education quality, connecting with medical institutions, and ensuring the most internship and hands-on training opportunities for students.”
“I hope you take full advantage of these valuable opportunities to grow and develop comprehensively.”
People’s Doctor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh welcomed the K18 freshmen and congratulated them on officially joining Dai Nam University's Faculty of Medicine. He affirmed that all students are the elite of DNU and will go on to become compassionate and ethical doctors, devoted to serving the community and the nation.
“We are committed to providing a modern learning environment with high-quality and new training methods aligned with medical standards of advanced countries in the world, as well as those of Vietnam’s leading medical universities. Here, students will engage in extensive hands-on experiences, hone your skills, learn to change, and learn to save lives.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Trung Kien - Assistant to the Chairman of the University Council and in charge of the Faculty of Medicine, presented key achievements that the Faculty of Medicine has achieved in the 2023-2024 academic year.
A Wave of Scholarships and Certificates of Merit was awarded to Students
The White Coat Ceremony for K18 freshmen was held solemnly, marking the beginning of their journey into the medical profession.
The white coat not only symbolizes the medical profession but also represents a commitment to responsibility, continuous learning, and the cultivation of medical ethics.
To encourage and motivate freshmend’s academic spirit and dedication, Dai Nam University awarded Talent Scholarships, Medical Scholarships, Dai Nam People Scholarships, Support Scholarships, and Ha Dong Pride Scholarships to freshmen. The total value of these scholarships amounted to 1.5 billion VND.

Essential Preparations for Future Doctors
The ceremony became even more meaningful with the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Viet Hang – Director of the Endoscopy Center, Hanoi Medical University Hospital.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Viet Hang highlighted that Medicine is not just a job but a mission which requires dedication and responsibility towards public health. She also emphasized that in the digital era, medical students must not only have solid medical knowledge but also be proficient in information technology and digital tools.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Viet Hang encouraged K18 freshmen to stay resilient, be courageous in facing challenges, and never stop learning, so they can become talented and compassionate doctors.

Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Anh - class YK 18-01, shared: “We are incredibly proud and honored to become medical students at Dai Nam University. We promise to study diligently, sharpen our professional skills, and uphold strong medical ethics to become excellent doctors in the future.”
Representing the parents of K18 freshmen, Mr. Nguyen Minh Cuong expressed confidence in the teaching and faculty quality of Dai Nam University’s Faculty of Medicine.
