Do Huong Giang - a final year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University (DNU) has just won a full Master's scholarship worth more than 4 billion VND from the California Institute of Technology, USA - Top 5 most prestigious universities in the world and a Master's scholarship in Pharmacy worth 80% of tuition fees from 02 Top 10 universities in France.

Do Huong Giang - a final year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University, an excellent girl who won 03 "huge" international Master's scholarships.

The female student born in 1998, from Hung Yen, shared interesting things about her chance to study Pharmacy, her journey studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University, and her tireless efforts to "hunt" for a "huge" international Master's scholarship.

-Hello Giang! First of all, congratulations on winning 3 "huge" international Master's scholarships from prestigious universities around the world! What opportunity brought you to the Pharmacy industry and the Faculty of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University?

At first, my plan was to study Medicine, but due to some events, I could not get into the school I wanted. Failing with Medicine, I intended to study Economics, but my family oriented me to Pharmacy. After researching and considering, I chose the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University. To be honest, at first, I did not completely love Pharmacy and wanted to go to Dai Nam University because I thought that private schools were for people who were not really good. But then I still decided to "bet" my future at Dai Nam and kept hoping that my choice was the right one.

Letter of acceptance for Master's scholarships from Paris-sud XI University (France), Bordeaux University (France) and California Institute of Technology (USA).

-So, up to now, do you think your decision was right or wrong?

Contrary to my initial prejudiced thoughts, when I entered the school, I found that Dai Nam University really invested in training in Pharmacy and other majors in the Health sector. The learning environment is very dynamic and full of experiences. The teaching staff are mostly teachers from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Military Medical Academy, Hanoi Medical University... with very good professional qualifications and extremely dedicated. I was really surprised. Not only that, the school also invested heavily and synchronously in equipment to serve students' practical learning. Students are given the opportunity by the Faculty to approach businesses early and continuously throughout the course. In particular, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Dai Nam University always orients students to become a standard, dynamic pharmacist. That is what I am proud of.

“I won the bet when I bet my future on Dai Nam”

At Dai Nam, I not only met teachers who inspired and motivated me to fulfill my dreams, but it was also the place where I met someone who I consider important in my life, who changed me a lot (laughs).

I bet my future on Dai Nam. And I think I won this bet. Perhaps, this is both fate and luck for me.

- It is known that during your time studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University, you have done scientific research, internships and part-time jobs very early. What motivates you to be so active?

Right from my second year, I decided to study abroad and started my scholarship hunting journey. To get a good scholarship, I had to have good academic performance, internship experience, scientific research, extracurricular activities, and English proficiency. I made up my mind and always told myself to try my best to achieve that goal.

People often say: "A day of travel teaches a lot of knowledge". I also think like that. I have interned and worked part-time at many companies such as: Vinuni, Vinfast, Ha Tay Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company in Q&A, Q&C, R&D departments, running events for Campus France... Internships and part-time jobs related to my major not only help me achieve my goals but also help me realize that my knowledge is limited and I need to learn more to improve myself.

- How is your 5-year academic performance at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University?

Maybe because I clearly defined my goals from the beginning, I always maintained good and excellent academic performance in each semester. I myself am also very active in scientific research, doing early internships and investing in learning foreign languages and soft skills.

To achieve good academic results, first you must be confident and proud of your school, your teachers and yourself.

The greatest gift for his efforts is a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Dai Nam University; a Master's scholarship in Pharmacy from Paris-sud XI University and Bordeaux University (two Top 10 universities in France), a full scholarship worth more than 4 billion VND in biotechnology from the California Institute of Technology (USA).

-Can you share some experience with students about hunting for international scholarships?

Determine your goals early and clearly because hunting for scholarships is a long process and requires perseverance. You should learn about the countries and schools you want to apply to. Other majors besides Medicine and Pharmacy may be easier to apply for and are not as strict. If you want to apply for a Medicine and Pharmacy scholarship, you should research a scientific topic, participate in extracurricular activities, do an internship at a Pharmaceutical company to get a certificate of experience, and improve your GPA to a good level because Medicine and Pharmacy is a major related to human health, so the requirements are quite strict.

“When studying Pharmacy, don't be afraid of difficulties or hardships, but break through and persevere.”

-With your experience as a senior, what advice do you have for young people who have chosen and will choose Pharmacy as their career path?

Those who dare to choose Pharmacy to pursue are very brave, persistent, and have good thinking. Once you have chosen Pharmacy, try to become a standard Pharmacist - dynamic and creative. Teachers impart knowledge to you to create a springboard for you, but whether you can go far or not depends on yourself. When studying Pharmacy, do not be afraid of difficulties, do not be afraid of hardship, but break through and persevere in your pursuit. You will definitely succeed and achieve many good results. Prove that you are a Dai Nam Pharmacy student, not inferior to any Pharmacy student of any school. Come on, you can do it!!!

- Can you tell us a little about your future plans?

I have many plans for the future, but they are all aimed at developing my strengths and making the most of what I have.

- Thank you! I wish you will have wonderful learning and research experiences on your upcoming learning journey!
