Dean of Nursing Faculty of Dai Nam University: “DNU Nursing Faculty must be the best training place…”

Despite receiving many job offers, Dr. Tran Quang Huy - the first Vietnamese Doctor of Nursing trained in Sweden, Vice President of the Vietnam Nursing Association still decided to "join" Dai Nam University, taking on the position of Head of the Nursing Faculty. Along with the mission, vision and "huge" investment in the Health sector of the School's Board of Directors, Dr. Tran Quang Huy decided to use all the Heart - Mind - Strength - Power of the collective to make the Nursing Faculty "breakthrough"; becoming the "address" for the best training in the Nursing industry in Vietnam. Below are the enthusiastic shares and commitments of the Head of the Nursing Faculty of Dai Nam University.

It is an honor and a pride for me to work at Dai Nam University as the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing. This is a great opportunity for me, teachers and students to shape, strive and join hands to further develop the Faculty of Nursing.

Although the days working at the school were very short, my strong impression of the school was the high standards and discipline in work. Through the Training Week for staff, lecturers and employees of the 2023-2024 school year, I understood more about the school's educational philosophy and training motto; always aiming at staff, lecturers and students; wholeheartedly doing the best so that teachers and students can have a good life. I really appreciate and am grateful for that. This is also one of the reasons why I decided to "join" Dai Nam University.

Nursing faculty is determined to "explode" in the 2023-2024 school year.

With the school's vision: "By 2030, become the leading trusted training address among universities in Vietnam, the first choice of learners with the majors being trained at the school" , the Faculty of Nursing must also strive to become a leading trusted address for students nationwide.

To achieve the above expectation, the Faculty of Nursing must train nursing graduates with the unique characteristics of Dai Nam University. At the same time, they must have similar abilities to graduates from large and traditional schools with 4 groups of abilities:

First, Good professional skills

Nursing students practice their profession from their first year of university.

Second, solid soft skills (communication, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and time management) to perform professional work more effectively.

Third, foreign language proficiency is sufficient to integrate internationally and meet the challenges of the 4.0 era, when technology and artificial intelligence will be increasingly applied in the field of health care.

Dai Nam University is gradually internationalizing the training of Bachelor of Nursing at Dai Nam University.

Fourth, Good computer skills.

To achieve the desired quality of graduates, I myself and the Nursing Department strive to carry out the department's slogan: Wholeheartedness, Intellect/Intelligence and Innovation, trying our best in the following areas:

1. Improving training quality: The Faculty of Nursing is committed to improving the quality of training at the Faculty of Nursing, including: reviewing training programs and textbooks to ensure they are modern, up-to-date and suitable to social requirements; improving the teaching capacity of lecturers, improving teaching methods and applying modern educational technologies to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become excellent and professional nurses.

2. Research and development: The Faculty of Nursing will promote research and development in the field of Nursing, creating new and innovative solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning, enhance the quality of health care and people's lives.

3. Community Service: The Faculty of Nursing will actively participate in social activities and community service to contribute to the development of society and teach students about the importance of solidarity and humanity.

4. Strengthen and enhance cooperation: The Faculty of Nursing will strengthen cooperation with practice facilities where we send students to practice to improve the quality of clinical practice with other nursing training facilities to share and gain experience, especially expanding international cooperation to create experiential learning opportunities for lecturers and students, helping to gain a deeper understanding of the Nursing industry, and developing a global perspective.

We believe that with the solidarity and continuous efforts of the Nursing Faculty; along with the support from the School, the Nursing Faculty will certainly achieve the above goals. The Nursing Faculty of Dai Nam University must become the best training place in the country and the first choice of young people passionate about Nursing.

We are committed to dedicating ourselves and working hard to create an excellent Nursing Department that contributes positively to the development of our School and benefits the community.
