Digital Banking Workshop: Practical Learning for Banking and Finance Students

Sensitive to the trend of electronic financial transactions in the 4.0 era, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University organized for students to participate in the Workshop "Digital Banking: Turning challenges into opportunities to accelerate" organized by VTC News electronic newspaper on January 21, 2021.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Institute of Information and Communications Strategy - Ministry of Information and Communications and VTC Digital Television Station (VTC1).

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, emphasized: “In the context of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution taking place rapidly and strongly in all aspects of economic and social life, digital transformation is considered a new driving force for growth, the key to turning danger into opportunity, seizing opportunities for rapid and sustainable growth.

With the responsibility of being the lifeblood of the economy, providing essential and fundamental services, promoting the development of economic sectors, the finance and banking sector determines that digital transformation is no longer a trend, but a must.

Understanding the importance of digital transformation and being sensitive to the trends of the times, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University always directs learners towards applied training. Participating in in-depth seminars is one of the practical training programs of the faculty for students.

At the workshop “Digital Banking: Turning challenges into opportunities for acceleration”, students had the opportunity to meet famous experts in the field of Finance - Banking: Mr. Le Anh Dung, Deputy Director of Payment Department - State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Tri Hieu, Expert in the field of Finance - Banking; Ms. Do Tuyet Trinh - Deputy Director of Personal Customer Division, HDBank; Mr. Ngo Tri Long, Economic Expert.

After the program, students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking had practical experiences and better understood the trend of electronic financial transactions in the 4.0 era. Thereby, helping them orient their studies and supplement the necessary knowledge to meet the requirements of their careers after graduation.

In addition, this is also an opportunity for the staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking to update practical knowledge and make appropriate adjustments in the teaching field.

Staff - Lecturers and Students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking accumulated a lot of knowledge when attending the workshop.

Representative of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University, MSc. Nguyen Thanh Luan shared: “With the orientation of applied training, specialized seminars such as the seminar “Digital Banking: Turning challenges into opportunities for acceleration” are one of the extracurricular training sessions for students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking. Through that, students will better understand the challenges of human resources, careers and job opportunities after graduation…”

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the faculty's lecturers and professionals to update their practical knowledge to better orient students, helping them to face changes in their work, especially in the current digital transformation process between banks."

In the coming time, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University will continue to send students to participate in in-depth seminars and field trips to many businesses that are partners of the faculty; helping students expand their career opportunities, gain more practical knowledge and learn work experience from managers and leaders of large agencies and businesses. Aiming to make the Faculty of Finance and Banking become the number one applied banking training unit in Vietnam.
