With the motto of “learning goes hand in hand with practice”, the Faculty of Communication of Dai Nam University always focuses on promoting training programs closely linked to practice, students have the opportunity to experience the maximum of journalism and communication activities in each subject. Recently, within the framework of the Press Relations subject, students of class QHCC 15-01 demonstrated their organizational skills and professional practice through a hypothetical press conference “Summary of the Fund for Raising Children”.

A press conference is an activity in the field of Journalism and Communications, aimed at announcing information and answering questions from the media. For a press conference to be successful, it is necessary to carefully prepare all stages, such as: planning, making a list of media units, writing press releases, press kits, speeches to the press, preparing interview content, etc.

Through mock press conferences, students can practice their adaptability and reflexes; interview question and answer skills; build press relationships; handle situations related to journalism, media, etc. Recognizing the importance of the above activities, the Faculty of Communication always promotes practical content - mock press conferences in the training program.

Identifying “Nuoi em” – a volunteer project bringing rice to poor children in the village, led by Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung, as a practical activity that receives public attention, students of class QHCC 15-01 decided to choose it as the topic for their mock press conference.

The press conference was organized in a methodical and professional manner.

After agreeing on the idea, students of class QHCC 15-01 started to research and carefully prepare for all stages of the press conference, from planning, assigning tasks, implementing work... to preparing logistics and equipment.

In addition to finding information through newspapers and radio, students also contacted relevant parties of the “Nuoi em” fund to ask about the activities, achievements, development orientation, etc. of the project.

Playing the role of reporters and journalists, teachers and students of the Faculty of Communication posed many “difficult” questions to representatives of the “Nuoi Em” fund. However, due to careful preparation, the hypothetical members of the “Nuoi Em” fund were able to give satisfactory answers to the press and media.

Representatives of reporters and journalists asked questions to representatives of the "Raising Children" fund.

Dr. Tran Van Le - Head of the Faculty of Communication commented: “I am surprised by the professionalism of the students. They have applied the knowledge and skills they have learned very well to organize a real press conference. I hope that the students will make good use of practical lessons like this to develop themselves, gain more experience in handling press situations... This will be the luggage to serve their future work”.

The press conference was successful and received high praise from teachers of the Faculty of Communication.

Sharing after the mock press conference, Bich Nga - a student of class QHCC 1501 expressed: "I feel that studying in a practical - experimental environment at the Faculty of Communication, Dai Nam University is very useful. Learning both theory and practice helps us clearly define the future work of a person working in the field of journalism - communication".

The press conference received many positive reviews from the lecturers.

The mock press conference was a great success, bringing a lot of knowledge, skills and lessons to students of class QHCC 15-01 in particular and students of the Faculty of Communication in general.
