Commenting on the contest, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University said : "The elegant nursing contest is an intellectual and useful playground, a valuable opportunity for nursing students to improve their professional knowledge, practice skills, and improve professional ethics right from when they are still in school...".

According to Dr. Le Dac Son, nursing is one of the key training majors of Dai Nam University. The school focuses on investment and development to improve the training quality of the Nursing Faculty. “Nurses are those who directly participate in medical examination and treatment, taking care of people’s health. Therefore, the nursing profession must be trained seriously and systematically, and the training program must be constantly updated and innovated. Being good at professional skills is a mandatory condition for a nurse…”, Dr. Le Dac Son emphasized.
This year’s Elegant Nurse Contest attracted the attention of many staff, lecturers and students of the Nursing Faculty. After passing the rigorous preliminary round, the 15 best contestants entered the final round of the Contest.
The Station Running section requires candidates to talk to patients and perform techniques within the allotted time of 5 minutes/technique.
In the Professional Exam (Running Station), 15 candidates went through 5 techniques of Nursing , including : Deep intramuscular injection technique, infusion technique, gastric tube placement technique, head bandaging technique and cardiopulmonary resuscitation technique in emergency cardiac arrest. Each candidate had 5 minutes to perform a technique and went through all 5 techniques.
With confident, agile and technically correct movements, contestant Nguyen Thi Lan Anh (registration number 01) excellently won the first prize in this round.

The contest attracted the attention of many teachers and students in the Faculty.
Evaluating the Station Running competition, Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal of Dai Nam University said : “The professional competition is organized so that students have the opportunity to learn from each other and improve their nursing skills. In the training work of the University, the curriculum content is always built and developed in the direction of professional application. The University always strives to change the training program according to international standards, ready to invest in modern equipment, serving the teaching and learning of lecturers and students ... ”.
…and have elegant manners
According to Dr. Le Dac Son, in addition to having solid professional knowledge , nursing students also need to develop a professional working attitude, elegant and cultured behavior. “You are a high-level intellectual force of society, holding a profession that is respected by society. To work in this profession, to live and die with this profession, in addition to professional knowledge, you need to have clear professional ethics, elegant behavior…”, Dr. Le Dac Son said.
The school head said that the school always supports programs and competitions that have practical meaning, supplementing necessary knowledge and experience for students.
At the competition, real-life situations in the industry were resolved by 15 contestants in a reasonable and appropriate manner, in accordance with professional ethics and Vietnamese culture . “ The situations presented by the competition are stories and situations that nurses encounter every day at their workplace. These are truly practical lessons that are useful for students and can be added to the classroom curriculum immediately…”, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet - Vice Principal and Head of the Nursing Department, Dai Nam University shared.
Surpassing the other contestants with impressive situational answers, student Duong Truong Anh excellently received the overall first prize.

Sharing his feelings after the program, Truong Anh said : “I highly appreciate the abilities of all the contestants today. In my opinion, a nurse not only needs solid professional knowledge but also needs to have a sense of responsibility for the job, working with all her heart to achieve the best results.”
