Freshmen of the Faculty of Tourism have just made waves in the whole school when they turned their final exam in Event Management into professional and spectacular programs. Thereby, they affirmed that the talent, creativity and organizational skills of the students of the Faculty of Tourism of Dai Nam University (DNU) are not inferior to those of professional event companies.

Reducing exam pressure through flexible testing and assessment methods, suitable for learners' abilities and social requirements, is one of DNU's learning ecosystems, thoroughly applied by the Faculty of Tourism. With the event organization exam format, students can apply theory to practice, develop management skills, event organization and teamwork.

Dr. Ngo Quang Duy - Head of the Faculty of Tourism emphasized: "Students need practical experience to turn knowledge into skills and experience, develop all abilities and creativity; confidently shine in a professional working environment".

Careful and professional in every stage of organization

In the Event Management course, students learn the following contents: Forming a theme, coming up with ideas, naming the event; Establishing an event organizing committee; Making an event budget estimate; Building a schedule for event preparation; Communicating and promoting the event; Collecting and responding to post-event feedback... to learn how to effectively organize and manage events, applying them to tourism and travel services.

Applying theory to practice, students bring life and creativity to each event, turning each program into a professional and engaging experience. From ideation, planning, budgeting, logistics, communications, costumes to publications, every detail is carefully crafted.

Each event is not only a test but also a work of art, clearly demonstrating the top-notch event organizing talent of the first-year students.

The reception subcommittee is responsible for welcoming and assisting guests at the event.

The Communications Subcommittee arranged staff to film, take photos and livestream the event.

The Personnel Committee assigned each student a different role to represent the event.

03 "peak" events

QTDL class 17.01 delighted the audience with a “top-notch” ethnic fashion show event called “Fragrance of Vietnam”. From traditional Ao Dai to typical costumes of ethnic minorities were recreated down to the smallest detail, showing the careful research and investment of the students.

QTDL class 17.02 surprised the audience again with the event “Nguyen Dynasty Royal Wedding”. The tight script and attractive message transmission brought the audience a real experience, as if returning to the historical space of the ancient dynasty.

The event "Nguyen Dynasty Royal Wedding" not only honors the beauty of culture and traditional customs but also creates an attractive and impressive event.

The “Miss Dai Nam” contest of QTDL class 17.03 brought an explosive atmosphere. This was not only an opportunity for students to show off their beauty but also an opportunity to reveal their talent and confidence. The gorgeous evening gowns, creative talent competitions,… were all carefully prepared, showing the investment and dedication of the students for this event.

Outstanding students were also selected as judges for the event.

Gain valuable skills in the tourism and events industry

MSc. Bui Xuan Luan – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Tourism, in charge of teaching Event Management, shared: “The students’ ability to manage and organize events exceeded my expectations. They have demonstrated their ability to adapt and be creative in all situations. These are valuable skills in the tourism and events industry.”

Nam Dung – a student of QTDL class 17.01 expressed: “This is a valuable experience that helps us better understand the event organization process; learn how to work effectively in a team, manage time, finances as well as how to overcome real-life challenges. I hope the school has more practical competitions like this to develop necessary skills and confidently enter a professional working environment.”

The achievements of the students are a testament to the effective application of flexible learning methods of the Faculty of Tourism. With the dedicated guidance of lecturers and the tireless efforts of students, the Faculty of Tourism is sure to provide society with high-quality human resources.
