DNU youth "burned" themselves out in the 2022 Green Summer volunteer trip in Yen Bai

Wearing green volunteer shirts, with excited and determined faces, Dai Nam University volunteers marched to Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province to carry out the "Green Summer 2022" campaign.

This is an annual activity of Dai Nam University Youth Union to promote the spirit of volunteerism and dedication to the community in accordance with the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there is youth - where there is difficulty, there is youth"; creating an environment for training, bonding and lighting the fire of enthusiasm of DNU youth.

Within the framework of the program "Green Summer 2022", the Volunteer Group of Dai Nam University organized the construction and handover of the youth project "Lighting up the countryside" worth nearly 16 million VND to the Government and people of Tau Tren village, Tram Tau commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province; the total length of the power line is more than 700m.

Spread the message "learn to change"

The volunteer group also presented 10 gifts including books, notebooks and school supplies to disadvantaged students who are striving to improve their studies; at the same time, organized 05 summer review sessions, taught English and 02 movie screenings for children in the commune.

We hope that through 5 lessons, students will be empowered and determined to overcome adversity and strive to study for their dreams and ambitions," said Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University.

The volunteer group hopes to inspire children in Tram Tau commune to study and pursue their dreams.

In addition to the activities of building new rural areas and taking care of children, the Volunteer Group also participates in meaningful community activities such as: Supporting crop harvesting; clearing and cleaning 2.5km of road in Tau Tren village and the area around the village cultural house and school; organizing the "Green Sunday" campaign with the commune authorities at all levels...

The journey of the "Green Summer 2022" campaign of Dai Nam University ended with a cultural exchange night. Here, comrade Giang A Tang - Party Committee member, Secretary of Tram Tau District Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to the student team of Dai Nam University and 05 individuals with outstanding achievements in the campaign.

Grow up through travel

After 12 days of volunteering in Tram Tau district, Do Thi Cong Hoan, a student of IT class 14-05, could not help but feel regretful. For the female student, the time was not long but it was enough to strengthen the bond between the volunteers and the people here.

“We came here with the spirit of helping people above all else. And we are very lucky to receive the love of the people here. Although they are poor in material things, they are very emotional, willing to share and protect us during the harsh weather. I feel lucky to be one of the members of the Green Summer 2022 campaign,” Cong Hoan expressed.

As for Ngo Minh Anh, a student of QTKD class 15-05, the most memorable memory of the trip was the story of overcoming difficulties of the Mong boys and girls. Despite lacking everything, they did not surrender to fate, determined to learn to read and write to change their lives.

The female student was heartbroken when the children cried on her shoulder and expressed their dream of entering university. “I hope that you will maintain this spirit of learning. Because studying may not be the only way to change your destiny, but it is the safest and most certain way to change. After the trip, I feel more mature, daring to do many things I never thought of before. I will always keep those wonderful things in my heart and hope to continue to “burn” myself out in meaningful youth trips like this ,” Anh shared.

“Green Summer 2022” has come to an end, but the memories and valuable lessons are what remain in the minds of every volunteer of Dai Nam University. Through the summer volunteer campaign, students not only go far and contribute a lot, but also gain experiences and lessons rich in humanity, contributing to arousing the spirit of dedication of the young generation to the community and society.
