English exam: Long and difficult again, candidates cry for fear of getting a failing score of 0, 1
English can be considered a weakness of many Vietnamese students. Many students leave the exam room in a bad mood because they cannot do the test and are likely to get a failing grade.
At exactly 2:30 p.m. on June 26, candidates across the country began taking the Foreign Language test in the 2018 National High School Exam. The test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions within 60 minutes.

With this year's English exam, students are likely to make mistakes such as focusing too much on reviewing grammar, while in reality the number of grammar questions only accounts for about 15%-20%. Students must have a large vocabulary, which is a weakness of Vietnamese students.

Most of the candidates with good English proficiency did not participate in this afternoon's exam because according to regulations, cases exempted from the Foreign Language exam in the recognition of high school graduation include members of the national team participating in the International Olympic in Foreign Languages, according to the decision of the Minister of Education and Training; candidates with one of the foreign language certificates according to regulations are valid until June 23.
